unfortunately, the NIRSA rankings aren't like the ESPN Today/AP Poll where they come out on time ALL the time. It wouldn't surprise me if rankings weren't posted until next week...it has happened before

Far as I know the commissioners get on the phone to sort out their rankings, maybe by exchanging rankings from their area first by email , and then the phone helps mesh the rankings. At least I know the commish out here last time said she was on the phone about it.
I imagine the delay is that one commish or so has not been reached yet. Final posting last year came from out east person. Don't know if he is in charge of final posting or not this year.
There are a ton of matches out here this weekend and I assume elsewhere. I hope they are not waiting for Monday, as it will take a bunch more time to figure out changes.
The Feb 1 rankings were done well before Feb 1.
UCLA is very good. btw. They just have no bench basically. Remains to be seen how that affects how they do on Day 3 of Nationals.

Someone please explain to me the point of having a 3 way tie for 22nd and a 4 way tie for 25th....then having 10 honorable mentions.
Thanks in advance.

I think the point is to just prove that everyone is so close. For instance, Santa Clara has already beaten both UC Davis and UC Berkeley this season, but lost to San Jose St, Sac St. and Cal Poly. I think this years rankings are almost pointless because anybody can beat anybody. No one is an extemely dominate team. Should make for some interesting Nationals though. Vegas in 2 weeks will help to clear up quite a bit. There are a lot of teams for everywhere coming to that tournament.

I have no idea the reason for ties, nor do I understand some of the rankings. I will say that Notre Dame got some hella love in these rankings. I guess Zip knew something about them I didnt, lol. I did pretty good on most of the others.

I was afraid they were going to take our bribe without doing their part of the deal. What a relief.

Your predictions are pretty close with the exception of a few teams, like Notre Dame, Utah Valley State, Virginia Tech and maybe Navy. Virginia Tech, Navy and Notre Dame were obviously big winners, all getting big jumps. In Navy and Virginia Techs case, apparently winning over Michigan State counts for a lot, and the win over OSU big for Notre Dame. Utah Valley State dropped a long way for having a 'bad tournament', but interestingly Wisconsin didn't drop nearly that far after having an awful tournament at the HI. Also, Notre Dame got rewarded for taking care of teams 'worse' then them and losing to teams that are 'better' then them, but Colorado did not. Colorado lost to UCF and Illinois but took care of their pool, and just had a bad draw.
Penn State dropped a long way (17 spots), and rightly so if their outside is gone for good. If he just missed this tournament and will be back, their far better then a 20th seed.
The other point about how everything is very close all over and anyone can beat anyone. However, the rankings are still very meaningful because of how things play out at nationals. In the case of ND and VT, they both beat 10-20 ranked teams lost to top ranked teams. VT also lost to Wright State, but that might have been ignored because Wright State is USAV like IU#### said. It appears they aren't penalizing teams for losing to Oshkosh/Arizona/Illinois and even UCF. The difference between a few seeds can be the difference between a high 2/3 or low 2/3 seed in a power pool, which can turn into the difference playing the 1st-2nd team in the nation or the 6-7th best team in the nation, needing a win to advance. I'll take my chances avoiding the top 3-4 if i have my choice.

Hey Jason, I got you on your bracket choices, holla at me. On the flip side, ND's bribe did work I see, lol. Gotta love the midwest love. And it was rumored that the Penn State outside would not return, but again RUMOR! And NO NO NO NO, Peluche, You definitely got that Sauce, I just want to be like you.

Got some results from a couple matches in SD. From what I heard, last week SDSU absolutely dominated USD (University of San Diego). Don't know if it's true, but I heard that USD was missing their starting setter and libero from that game. The two played again today and my sources tell me it was an extremely exciting one. SDSU took it in 5, 30-28, 30-27, 31-33, 28-30, 16-14. Don't know how this close of a game might affect their ranking, but we'll have to see. I know UCSD played SDSU last week, but I haven't been able to find out from anyone who won or what the scores were.
