Got some results from a couple matches in SD. From what I heard, last week SDSU absolutely dominated USD (University of San Diego). Don't know if it's true, but I heard that USD was missing their starting setter and libero from that game. The two played again today and my sources tell me it was an extremely exciting one. SDSU took it in 5, 30-28, 30-27, 31-33, 28-30, 16-14. Don't know how this close of a game might affect their ranking, but we'll have to see. I know UCSD played SDSU last week, but I haven't been able to find out from anyone who won or what the scores were. Are you from San Diego State men's vb? If so, do you have a website?

I am not on either team, however I do have friends on both clubs. I did a quick search but did not come up with a full website for the club team, however they do have a contact page on the SDSU Club athletics page. If you would like that website, the address is arc.sdsu.edu/sportclubs/clubs/mvolleyball.php

Wow, sucky for Utah Valley State But it's fair considering we didn't do so hot at the Far Westerns. Its very frustering when we were very close to beating UCLA and UC-Davis when we didnt have our libero. But hopefully this weekend in Colorado we can suprise some teams... But who knows. mwvc.info/overview.html for mountain west confrence championship. EDIT: Ill keep it updated through out the weekend

Their setter has the walking pneumonia. Shouldn't really be an excuse... They were 5-0 until the semis against Colorado and won the first game 20-25 then lost the next two 25-19 and 15-12. Their big opposite had a terrible match and had a hard time getting a good flow. Then they played ASU right after and they had no flow at all. Arizona A took Colorado pretty easy, Colorado gave them a good match the first game but the second game was all Arizona.

finally found some results for the UCSD-SDSU game.
UC San Diego Volleyball takes SDSU in 4
Men's Club Volleyball once again come away with a win against SDSU. Struggling the first game, UCSD came away with a win in deuce. The second game came easy with a strong offense and good teamwork. The same team work was not present in the third game and SDSU capitalized by making good use of UCSD's mistakes. The fourth game however, UCSD pulled it together to finish the match with numerous defensive plays. UCSD remains undefeated in regular season play and hopes to continue the streak at San Marcos on Tuesday.
I know UCSD beat Point Loma Nazarene, but I haven't heard about their game against San Marcos.

As far as Nothern California, the nccvl website is mostly updated. Minus a few games that were played this past weekend. www.nccvl.info. Berkeley is going drop a ton in the rankings unless they pull together something amazing at Las Vegas and League Champs the weekend after. They went 3-5 at the mini tournament with wins over Chico, Fresno and Sac St. Cal Poly and Davis are battling for #1, but Davis has the tie breaker, Santa Clara is 3rd. If you want to know who beat who, take a look. The NCCVL just beat itself up at the mini tournament. Davis almost went undefeated except for a loss to last place Chico and 4th place Fresno St (who by the way is very tall this year, just need to pull it together). Never did anyone this Chico would beat Davis or Sonoma St. beat Cal Poly... Just a crazy year in the NCCVL with lots of good competition. Vegas is the tournament that will decide just where everyone fits in on the national level. Should be a fun tournament.

Cal is not going to Vegas, so we will have to do what we can at League Championships. We definitely struggled at the mini tourney. Stayed in most games, but did not close them out.
We beat Sac and Chico last weekend....and so we play UC Santa Cruz and Fresno Fri and Sat nites and are taking a week off from matches, altho we have classes....the following week is spring break, but we will be in Berkeley most of the week prepping for League Playoffs meeting Holy Names...
Definitely need to upgrade our play. Now is about when the frosh get snowed with classes and vball
also waiting for April 29 and Admits Day for fall. 26 possibles that we know about.
This is year 2 of a bunch of frosh....who at this point in the year, need to be playing like they have a year under their belt. We'll see at League Playoffs, what everyone has learned.

Big Ten Championship is this weekend, Midwest 10 plays on the 24th, the following weekend is the MIVA tournament is the following weekend, and the Wisconsin Volleyball Conference Tournament is the weekend after the MIVA. The only recent information I found was Oshkosh beat Lakeland in three last Thursday. All the games were close. Your would expect Lakeland to at least take a game, but Oshkosh looks to be on a role.

Congrats to Illinois for winning Big Tens. They kicked Indiana around in the finals. I would post the link to the results but whoever posted the results may have still been drunk from the night before and there are some errors, lol. Here is how it went down.
Pool A #3 Illinois Iowa Purdue
Pool B Indiana #16 Michigan State Minnesota
Pool C #14 Ohio St #17 Wisconsin Northwestern
#3 Illinois went 2-0 in pool A, Iowa 1-1, Purdue 0-2
Pool B had a three way tie with all teams at 1-1. #16 Michigan State beat Minnesota in 2, Minnesota beat Indiana in 3, Indiana beat #16 Michigan State in 2. Because of Game record Indiana won the pool.
#14 Ohio State won Pool C, 2-0, #17 Wisconsin 1-1, Northwestern 0-2
Minnesota won a play-in game over Northwestern to play #3 Illinois in the quarters. #3 Illinois beat them in 2, then they beat #17 Wisconsin in the semi's in 2 (who beat #16 Michigan State in the quarters in 2)
Indiana beat Purdue in the quarters in 2, and then beat #14 Ohio State in a really tough three game match (who beat Iowa in the quarters)
#3 Illinois beat Indiana in the finals in 2.
