How does this work? I see on the site: Lewis plays @ Ball St 5 - 4 Quincy @ Loyola 6-3 Mercy @ IPFW 7-2 OSU bye.
Fine. I get that. But after round one, who plays whom? And, forgive my ignorance, but what is the deal with the MIVA? The standings show 2 conference divisions, but the "Coleman" isn't involved in the tourney. Only the "Shondell/Dunlap." (whaaa?)

Coleman is strictly Division III schools. The dividsion was created so that hopefully more D III schools in the midwest would go varsity with their club programs. Getting enougth teams in the conference would land and automatic birth in the D III final four. I believe this is correct anybody know for sure?

Loyola is riding high after running over Penn State. There should be some great matches in deciding who is going to the final four.
I think it is almost anyones to win.

The Coleman playoffs existed in 2006 as that winner played into the main MIVA Tournament. There is no Coleman tournament this year. I don't know why. Anyway, I predict a Loyola Lewis championship match with Loyola winning 5-0.

How can Loyola win 5-0? Score a safety at the final whistle? Or they play 5 regardless in the MIVA? Tough conferrence.

Thanks for the info, beachboy. I take it that in Columbus, we'll see Ohio State play the Lewis/Ball State winner and Quincy/Loyola play Mercy/IPFW? I take it these matches are at 5/7pm?

Having watched Loyola play against PSUs fast offense, I can't see OSU reaching 20 pts against Loyola. Remember...OSUs setter plays "slow-high VB."
BSU can't play with either.
Lewis has great digging and passing, but has no coaching. If the games are close Lewis will get out-coached. Dayton can't do it all.
IPFW easily gets intimidated by real universities. Inferiority complex?

Is this the same Loyola that lost to OSU 30-17, 30-21, 31-29 in Columbus? With TWO total blocks, were the Loyola blockers sitting out? I don't know.. were there injuries? Seriously, I don't know why that's an assumption here... unless you only count the last game they played together (15-30). I'm not being sarcastic; I guess I'm missing something here.

You r missing lot of things: Injuries, Coaching staff, good players that r overused, a setter that the best set is called "sky ball" hahahahaha. Yes, a lot of things r missing, Ohiostatead.
Fanatics, I love them!!!

This coming from a team that didnt even come close to beating OS, at all. Loyola and BS seemed to do it pretty easily.

Fanatics, I love them!!! Of your listed reasons, only injuries make a lick of sense. I'm not sure how a VB player is "overused." Is Alex Gutor "overused?" He never left the court in the 5 games in Columbus. And however you care to criticize Matthews, I believe he did set his team to a 3-game sweep of Loyola, which was the match in question. My point is that you doubt that the Buckeyes can get to 20 against a team they already swept. And I just wanted to know who wasn't playing, blocking, etc when OSU beat them. (e.g., PSU lost to Loyola without Gutor). Fanatic? Naw, I was the only sensible guy in my circle who warned how fast and hungry Florida's football team was in January. I'm no pessimist, but I sometimes dampen the party with realism. And I have no expectations for the MIVA tourney, but regardless of that, I'll be cheering on my Buckeyes bedecked in 100% cotton scarlet & grey.

Please don't forget that Loyola did the same exact thing to OSU. OSU "Must" have had a bad night, right?
The MIVA crown is up for grabs.
