In a question for those who follow international volleyball, are our left sides not great terminators at this level, or is it more that it is just really, really hard for lefts to score against this type of competition? I know that great all around skills are essential here, but it seems as if Hooker is really the offense a lot of the time. Our OHs are playing different roles now than they have in the past. Logan Tom was named Best Scorer at the Beijing games. We don't need huge offensive numbers from them.. their main duty is to pass, serve, and play defense..

The double sub never seems to work. HP not impressive -- 2 error on 2 sets

Tom hasn't been a consistent offensive threat for a while...Larson has REALLY picked up her offense. She's had a couple bad matches but recently Larson is in the top 2 in terms of kills for team USA. In terms of PURE offense are they on a level of Fe Garay, Ortolani, Wang, or Kim? no...but they get the job done. International ball mimicks some of the successes and failures of the NCAA game...if you don't have quality OH's that can terminate when you need them too, that's when you don't win....Larson and Tom are quality, with Hodge being an offensive force as well.

The double sub never seems to work. HP not impressive -- 2 error on 2 sets never is an exaggeration, but you would be correct in saying it hasn't produced any excess points in the last few matches. I do think the issue of Haneef Park, she just has made very poor hitting decisions.

I'd say that our left sides are good terminators, Destinee is just in a league of her own. This game in particular, Turkey's defense is just gobbling everything up so it's tough to get kills. Plus Logan is getting served pretty much every time, so its much harder for her to be in the best location to get good swings

The double sub never seems to work. HP not impressive -- 2 error on 2 sets I think she just needs to block.

The double sub never seems to work. HP not impressive -- 2 error on 2 sets The biggest problem with the double-sub right now is that Thompson doesn't have the option of setting Hooker. The other hitters need to step up.

Out of system versus the block of Foluke and Hooker is not a good place to be.
