What the hell are you talking about? A chalupa is not an "ethnic stereotype". It is a food dish native to Mexico and very common in Mexican food. It is entirely rational to think that someone who grew up in Mexico might want to have some of those food items when travelling. Have you ever travelled abroad? Do you know how many Americans (of ALL ethnicities) go to Paris for a tour of french museums and history, but within the first two days make a stop at McDonald's to order a "Royal Cheese"? Black, white, brown, chartreuse, whatever the ethnicity, Americans pack into USA-based chain restaurants in other countries, for a little taste of home. When it became known that Sydney Yogi was probably going to sign with Texas, we had Hawai'i fans here musing on whether she'd miss getting to eat chicken katsu. You really need to grow a sense of humor. People need to stop using sense of humor as a defense to make fun of others and stereotype. You can still be funny while not being potentially offensive and not opening yourself up to be perceived as a racist/ xenophobe. Especially online when people can't tell if u r kidding or being a jack ass. To me it's a "safe" soft form of internet bullying. I don't believe in being PC but I don't believe in offending others either. Someone needs a Xanax.

OMG YOU SUGGESTED THAT THE GIRL FROM MEXICO LIKES MEXICAN FOOD! HOW INAPPROPRIATE! Why do you have to mention it to begin with? What's the point, the intention? You can say whatever you want, just don't get upset when people call you out on it.

However, I believe if I were to study in a foreign country and someone from that country was all, "How'd they get him here? Promise him burgers and fries at the cafeteria?" I certainly wouldn't expect everyone on a message board to flip about about it. But that's just me.

Understand that "political correctness" and "inappropriateness" are not really very interesting. They also have nothing to do with racism, but that's another subject. BTW, xenophobia is interesting because it implies that people fear those who are not like them. The only ones who fear Bricio are line diggers when their team blocks angle!
