Jane was not at Hermossa for the USAV Invitational. I was told that she is going to Arizona.

Jane Croson's friend is not listed on the 2013 Arizona football roster. UH may come out with an announcement this week as per Volley Shots.

wait, what? Jane Croson is transferring? FWIW, that was the scuttlebutt last weekend at the USAV college tournament in Hermosa (Hawai'i didn't bring Jane). Transferring to U. of A. to play with her BFF, Hallie Amaro. Please note the "FWIW." |

My source was one of the other college coaches there at Hermosa. She had been telling her good friends (one was on my daughter's team) that she wanted out of Hawaii for weeks now and was feeling around the West Coast schools as to who might be interested. Sounds like Arizona is a good fit, especially if they take up sand volleyball.

The Wichita State tournament on September 20-21 has Hawaii, Wichita State, Creighton, and Washington. Should be an interesting tournament

Is it confirmed she is going to Arizona? The transfer HAS NOT been confirmed, but Jane is "looking at her options". One of those options is returning to Hawaii. Based on todays Star-Advertiser article, Croson needed to meet obligations back in Oct/Nov and got reinstated to the indoor team and it (the article) mentioned something to the affect that she did not uphold that obligation during the sand season and that was the reason for her not traveling with the sand team in their final game. Jane was advised by her dad not to speak about transfering. It seems that the reason this "rumor" started was the fact that she might not have had her scholarship available. However, the article said that UH has now offered Jane her scholarship for the upcoming school year, therefore the decision comes down to Jane and what she wants to do. The paragraph the mentions the Wichita State tournament reads: Indoor coach Dave Shoji has added the Wichita State Tournament to the Wahine's fall schedule, Sept. 20-21. The Shockers were 23rd in last year's final poll and a representative said the other two teams tentatively scheduled are Creighton, No. 24, and ninth-ranked Washington, which ended Hawaii's season in December. |
