So I know nothing about Wichita State except that it's in Kansas. Why will they beat USC? Why not?

Yep, their setter dumps quite a lot, and their middles are their strongest players. Shut down the middles and USC will have no problem.

Wichita State = Shockers
Learned from wikipedia: shocking = harvesting wheat fields
I didn't know this until today.

WSU has no chance. USC should take the week off and just show up. If the Trojans want to prepare, then prepare for Texas. If fact, just show up Saturday morning; have the cheer squad play WSU on Friday.

I'm immature enough to be amused by the fact that their nickname is the Shockers, and that their spirit squads and/or athletes will at times throw up the Shocker handgesture (with the index, middle, and smallest finger extended).
But WSU does have a good volleyball program and quite a fervent vb fanbase

Wichita will win. They are more talented. Oh, wait, this is still volleyball, isn't it? I was thinking of men's basketball. On the volleyball side, I haven't seen the Shockers since the opening weekend, but I would think that the key for them would be, as someone already said, having the ball control to get the middles involved and give Feekin the option to attack.

That's too funny. www.goshockers.com/SplashPage.dbml?SPLASH_AD_ID=681642okay, so maybe it's not the exact gesture, since it lacks the component of the thumb holding down the ring finger, but still close enough to give me a chuckle. the corporate line for the gesture is "it's just making a 'W' to signify Wichita"

I have to admit it was really hard for me to not throw up the Shocker when Wichita State did something well, since I am immature that way sometimes.

The USC fans making their jabbing gesture with two fingers should intermingle nicely with the "Shocking" W. Pornography in the stands?

Wichita middles sound like Jolly of St. Mary's, who went off in the first set against USC. However, Olgard has been doing well and I guess SC made some adjustments.
