if i can be real for a second, WW1984 was an abomination. terrible, terrible movie i was so excited. saw it on christmas day and left the theater apologizing to my friends for asking them to join me.
LOL! I have to admit "Good" was being kind, even an "OK" would be generous I guess.

Homefront with Jason Statham and James Franco. Broker (Statham) was an undercover DEA agent who resigned after a drug bust where the son of the Danny T (biker gang leader) was shot to death…Broker did not think his death was warranted despite the guy making it look like he was reaching for a gun. Retired with his daughter, Maddy, in his deceased wife’s hometown, didn’t take long for trouble to find him there. Started with a schoolyard fight between his daughter and a school bully, which escalated when the boy’s mother asked her brother Gator (Franco), a known town meth maker, to mess with Broker and his daughter. Upon sneaking around the house one day, Gator found out Broker’s history as a DEA agent, and Danny T whom Gator is more than familiar with.
Typical Statham action movie, but it caught my interest after watching some short clip of Maddy kicking the bully’s butt in the schoolyard.

Watched Dune. Not bad, just as entertaining as the 80’s version. Thought Ferguson’s Lady Jessica was a bit of a basket case compared to Annis’ (80’s). Think I’m going to have to read the book to see how it was written.

Wonder Woman 1984 Was good, not as good as the first though. Love Linda Carter’s cameo in the end credit scene, and from what I have read she will reprise her role as Astoria in the third WW movie. if i can be real for a second, WW1984 was an abomination. terrible, terrible movie
Agreed! It was a let down for me after the first one being the best movie DC had put out to date. Not sure where they were going with WW1984.

Dune. Yes. Just watched in IMAX, best decision to spend a little more for this one. If you have an IMAX theater near you, I'd highly recommend using it for this one (if you haven't already).

Dune: It's good, folks. The box scene and the first sardaukar scene stand out a lot to me. Much much better than the Lynch Dune, cannot wait for the second one.

Thought Lynch's version gave a bit more, if its in line with the book that is. The box scene for example, in Lynch's version you can see what Paul was feeling/seeing what's happening with his hand. The opening narrative explained why Lady Jessica bore a son to Duke Leto, whereas in Villenueve's version is was a quick mention by the Reverend Mother after Paul went through the test. And I did like how Lynch played out the character's thoughts throughout the movie. And yes, the Sardaukar is better now than Lynch's version...as are the graphics. And Lady Jessica's use of the voice in the shuttle was pretty good. Like an article I read said, she's become a badass in Villenueve's version. Looking forward to the second half. Funny thing is as the characters were speaking other languages (eg Chinese, hand signs, Harkonnen, Fremen) the subtitles were all in Chinese and not in both English/Chinese. Had no idea what was being said.

Lynch is too weird to adapt someone else's story, imo.

Had no idea what was being said. The politics are hard to do while still keeping pacing going. That's why the Lynch Dune was so bad. Just incomprehensible to anybody who hasn't read the book and the 5 minutes of Princess Irulan's head floating there narrating at the beginning kill the movie before it even starts. I think the new Dune could have done a bit more politics, or just had people not talk so quick when they were going over political stuff, but better too little than too much if you want to make it watchable.

The Suicide Squad
Penis, breasts, sexual situations…surprised to see these in a comic book movie.
Some elements of this movie was good, but I have to say I didn’t like it too much. Don’t know why but it seems that DC is trying to go for the laugh factor and ends up making the movie bad. Happened to Birds of Prey…over did it with trying to be funny.
Take Bloodsport and this version of Flag, put them in the 2016 Suicide Squad, find a better bad guy (Delevigne’s Enchantress was terrible) and you may have a good movie.
