Saw "The Giver" tonight. Liked it. Meryl Streep-best actress ever. Jeff Bridges does this weird thing with his upper lip. Kinda annoyed me the whole movie. Do you know who is really annoying? Melissa McCarthy! Anything Melissa McCarthy is annoying to me!! Just like anything Roseann whatever her name was... Chef was ok. Edge of tomorrow was fun.

Melissa McCarthy is pretty funny, I think. But I don't think I've ever seen her movies-just television. Gilmore Girls was bonding time TV for me and my daughter. She's pretty funny in her new show, Mike and Molly.

Finally watched American Hustle - loved it. Great acting - loved Christian Bale and Amy Adams and of course the goddess Jennifer Lawrence.
Was any of the movie true other than ABSCAM as the back story?
Had to watch it over several days because of interruptions, so plan to watch it again in 1 sitting.
Noticed Robert De Niro was not credited for his role in the movie. Why?

21 Foot Journey. Really, really, really good.
Saw trailer for Unbroken. Looks good. May be too intense for me.

Saw Theory of Everything. Good, but thought the real hero was Hawking's wife. He was kind of a scoundrel.
Also saw Mockingjay. Not as good as the first two, JLaw was good.

I think I'm no longer the target audience for a lot of movies. Saw The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Absolutely bored to death. I was actually -- literally -- falling asleep about 1/4 of the way in.

Finally watched 2 of the many movies on my DVR:
Wolf of Wall Street Anchorman 2
Wolf of Wall Street - I love Marty Scorsese, but Holy Crap. Not sure what to think - Goodfellas on Steroids, Quaaludes, etc? Trying to remember a Oscar type movie that was so decadent. I guess I need to google Jordan Belfort to learn how much was true and how much was Hollywood Hype. It was entertaining, but now the most I can recall are the Caligula scenes & rugrat.
Anchorman 2 - Stupid, stupid, stupid, but I guess that is the point and Will Ferrell is perfect as Ron Burgandy. Still too much of Ferrell is like Adam Sandler. But I liked it.
Still on my dvr- 2 Hunger Game movies, Lincoln & the 2nd Hobbit movie. I guess I'll start the Hobbit movie now since I want to see the new one at the Theatre. Family is trying to get me to watch the Dallas Buyers Club and Gravity, but I have no interest. Buyers Club will probably depress me and Gravity will bore me. I only like Matthew McConaughey in certain roles (True Detective) and not a Sandra Bullock Fan.

First wife was ticked. Divorced the nurse, became good friends with the first wife again. I'm sure she never dreamed he would live so long. 3 kids. How does that work. Well, I know how it works, but I'm surprised it all worked.

Sandra Bullock is not the star of Gravity, despite the fact that somehow they manage to strip her down to her underwear twice.
Space is the star of Gravity.

I actually liked the terrifying scene where all the Russian space debris tore through the space station. The rest was either stupid or unbelievable. No way she could hold onto the space station without drifting away.

Well just finished watching the 2nd Hobbit movie. Loved it. Non stop action. I liked the 1st movie but it was kind of slow and tedious at times. But it did set up the 2nd one nicely.
Can't believe I let it linger on the dvr since August! But I am not happy where it ended - - talk about a cliffhanger. Ready to watch the final installment - - next week is it???
Okay, back to the politics board to carry on the good fight!
