Spooky Nook Sports located in Manheim, PA (www.spookynooksports.com) is looking for a Director for their Volleyball Academy. The Nook Sports Facility is amazing and the potential for the growth of the volleyball program is infinite.
Job Description:
The Club Director leads overall direction of the club and its activities. The position reports to the Director of Programming, and is responsible for the organization's consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives.
The Club Director must assure that the organization has a long-range strategy which achieves its mission, toward which it makes consistent and timely progress. This position provides leadership in developing program, organizational and financial plans.
The Club Director will also oversee all staffing, operations and safety procedures related to the Nook Volleyball Club.
Essential Job Functions:
• Develop and Execute camps, clinics and private lesson programs
• Provide technical direction, mentorship and development to Nook Volleyball
• Remain current on applicable volleyball strategies, skills, drills & coaching methods
• Communicate with academy parents about the expectations and vision of all volleyball related items
• Work directly with Sports Performance Director and Director of Fitness to plan and coordinate all related physical training
• Develop relationships with area High School Volleyball Coaches, Players and Parents in order to assist in the recruitment of players for the club
• Lead in the development of the Nook Beach Volleyball Program
• Assist in leading Club Parents and Players through the college recruitment process
• Meet revenue goals determined by the Nook Management Team
• Coordinate and schedule tournaments for Nook Academy teams
• Provide a positive and encouraging atmosphere for all coaches and team members
• All other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must have dependable transportation to and from work
• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (i.e. business, sports psychology, physical education, education, etc.)
• Good organizational, time management, customer service and problem-solving skills
• The ability to work accurately and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions
• Knowledge of all rules and regulations that pertain to volleyball
• Ability to read, speak and understand the English language
• Applicants will be highly motivated, customer focused, values driven, and mission centered
• Coaching experience [3+ years] at the collegiate level
• Demonstrated coaching leadership
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• A minimum of 2 years of Elite Volleyball Club coaching experience
• Supervisory volleyball experience preferred
• Playing experience at the collegiate, professional, or National Team level
• Demonstrated ability to increase productivity and continuously improve methods, approaches, and departmental contribution
• Positive and friendly attitude towards guest, customers, and fellow employees
• Must be able to follow directions both written and verbally
• Ability to remain calm in tense and/or stressful situations
Working Conditions:
• Required to work rotating shift including days, evenings, weekends and holidays as well as travel to weekend tournaments
• Must be able to work in combination of indoor and outdoor weather conditions
• Physical requirements necessary include walking, standing, bending, lifting and sitting for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
