It appears that the US is going to be holding domestic CQs for its 4th spot in FIVB Grand Slams. Lauren Fendrick says first one is March 26th in Santa Monica. twitter.com/LaurenFendrick/statuses/441684456726736896I hope USAV will somehow publicize these and make results easy to find.

FIVB, AVP, NVL, along with Regional tournaments like NORCECA & CES, etc. There is a thread on here too with the full FIVB Schedule. Last year I thought USAV did write ups on the USAV IDQ tournaments, so I too hope they continue.

Well, your wish is partly coming true. Except it happened on the wrong day. Today is NORCECA Playoff #1 according to USAV Beach's twitter. It should be all over in the next 90 minutes, so we'll see if we hear some results.

Anybody have results? And can anybody (i.e., Klazk) explain what's at stake with this tournament?

Got it. From the scores, looks like Carico-Hochever pretty much dominated. Sometimes athleticism wins out over having a tall blocker. And good for John Hyden. From watching him in the AVP events he played last year, he still has plenty of game left.

From watching him in the AVP events he played last year, he still has plenty of game left. Looks like Jen and Whitney played poorly all tourney. Two three setters against marginal teams then a beatdown in the final. Todd Rogers also took a beating in game 3 of his loss but Theo seems to have that happen to him fairly regularly
