I like WandaVision. A really original series. So far. Plus Elizabeth Olsen is a great actress, imo. I was disappointed with The Mandalorian and then it hit its stride toward the end of season 1. Season 2 was very good. I like it. Olsen and Bettany are both brilliant... Honestly might be the best content Marvel has put out

Watching "The Morning Show" with Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon. Interesting drama. Wonder how much of it is true.
What's also interesting is the music. Downloaded "Grounds for Divorce" by Elbow and "I Feel Like I'm Drowning" by Two Feet because of this show.

The Morning Show was pretty good. Since you have Apple+, check out Ted Lasso, Tiny World, Earth at Night, Long Way Up (and it's earlier versions) and The Year Earth Changed.

Waiting for the next season of Dead to Me (Netflix). I'll watch The Kominsky Method if they do another season (Netflix). I'm interested in at least checking out Barry if I can find a way to watch it without picking up another streaming service. I'm very curious about Fleabag. WandaVision (Disney+) was clever enough and I'm always up for a little classic tv sitcom nostalgia, but the only reason I watched this in the first place was because the wife and kids got Disney+ so they could watch Hamilton and someone forgot to cancel the subscription. Finally watched The Queen's Gambit (Netflix). I thought it was uneven, some things I really liked about it, some choices were baffling to me. Call it a draw?

Hmm, of those, I've only seen the first season of Barry. It's good, but I didn't feel like watching subsequent seasons.

Been watching a lot of Friends clips on FB and got me thinking about ripping the DVD versions, which is longer than the aired version. For some reason, they didn't want to release this version on BD or on iTunes, which I would jump on in a minute.
Got a BD/DVD ripper over the Internet and on the first try I converted an episode of Wings to an H264.M4V file...not so good. Now trying the straight forward MPEG4 file and see how it goes...but this file is going to be huge compared to the H264.
Any ideas/recommendations on which format I should choose ripping from DVD? To be played on my iPad and iPhone.

As it turns out, the quality is the same all around. Even signed up for Paramount+ to take a look at live streaming Wings, not very good.
Will try playing the disc itself, see how good the Blu-Ray player is at upscaling the video.

Anyone watch love craft country? The nevers or city of bones?
Those are on my list and I want to know if they are good

I have been watching reruns of Reba, I had never watched it before but it puts all other sitcoms today to shame. It is brilliantly written. The characters are hilarious. I think a reboot of that show would be very popular.

Watching Mare of Easttown on HBO Max with Kate Winslet. A new episode drops every Sunday. It's been pretty good so far. Kate Winslet's Pennsylvania accent (it's set in a dingy PA mining town) isn't bad but SNL just did a skit where they spoofed on the accent.

Currently on season 1 of the black list. Hooked already. One of the best first episodes of a show I have ever seen.

Just finished Episode 6 of Mare of Easttown and it is holding up. Very good show. Murder in a small PA mining town. Also watching Mosquito Coast on Apple+ which is dropping episodes once a week. It's been updated to modern day from the book and old movie. It's been pretty good so far too.

I am watching...eh..."The Naked Director" on Netflix. Its a comedy-drama on the true story of failed Japanese encyclopedia salesman, Toru Muranishi, who in the 80's turned to producing porn to make a living...with surprising success. All the while he was trying to escape from the yakuza (the Japanese mafia) who wanted a slice of his profit and the Japanese law enforcement, who don't look kindly on his morally dubious activity. Given its taboo subject, there are quite a few...eh...sex scenes, but nothing too explicit. It is an interesting look into a seedy world, a behind-the-scenes view at the infamous "AV" (adult video) industry of Japan. What kind of characters actually produce these videos. Why they do it and the business model they engage in.
You don't exactly root for Muranishi, given his ethically challenged line of business, but at the same time he isn't portrayed as a villain either. His sleazy colleagues are also funny and outright hilarious at times. I suppose its a peek into a taboo subject that the the uptight Japanese society normally isn't too keen on advertising to the world.
Just don't watch it with your parents...if you know what I mean.

Just finished Season 1 of Mosquito Coast on Apple+. It was pretty good. Since I had never read the book or saw the Harrison Ford movie, I was unaware that this season was set up to be a prequel and is not part of the book or original movie. If Season 2 is picked up, that will start where the book and movie begin.
Watched Rutherford Falls on Peacock with Ed Helms. Quirky but I thought it was funny enough to hold me.
