Casey got fined for the stuff he did to the ref at the end of the match. I think he was in the right for those two back to back red cards. As for me, I took on the Kerri Cannon: Anyone know exactly what the fine is? Just curious. Based on their pay it must be like $50.00...ha!

That's a good win for them!!! That team is pretty good. Almost beat Phil and took gibb to 3 games. Beat the #1 Italy team in 3. Good win!!! Jennings/Drost are in! Drost came up with some big blocks at the end of game 3 to pull away and win a very tight match against Switzerland. awesome.

Hope I get to see some more of this event, since it's in my frikkin time zone. Much less of an excuse than when it's in Gstaad or The Hague (I was actually working during the bulk of those events).

Wait, there's an East Coast? Seriously, though, I know the FIVB has been trying to get a Florida event for quite some time, but I don't think a legit promoter and lead sponsor have stepped up to make it happen yet. The first pro beach tourney I ever attended was an FIVB event in Orlando, at Disney World. I remember it was pretty crowded, but I remember being in awe, walking up and seeing Smith/Stoklos...in person for the first time. The old Prime Ticket, had me hooked. I also remember Stokey losing and being PISSED about how loose they were calling hand sets....

So the match times today seem a little confusing to me. The women's look pretty straightforward with each pool playing two matches today with all times posted. Better get their early if you want to see Walsh/Ross 830am and then they don't play again until 310. That's quite a long time to wait in between matches. The guys matches look a little more confusing to me with some pools showing teams playing only one match today, some pools showing teams playing two matches today although the second match time is not posted. And Pool F with Hyden/Bourne 3 matches being played today and 3 tomorrow, again with second match time not being posted....will they post times for second men's matches later on today?
Looks like U.S. teams are spread out nicely for both genders, no teams in same pool. I'm sure there will be head-to-head matchups after completion of pool play but at least everyone has a good chance to get out of pool play without having to beat their compatriots.

Nick/Ryan have a great chance to pile up some points this weekend. They are the top seed in a weak pool and could get the bye, which I think they have only had once before. The other US teams dont have terrible pools, but harder than Ryan/Nick

Regarding the men's pools: I think there are typos on the dates. I think each men's team only plays once today, then twice tomorrow. Reverse of the women.

This is actually by design. One of the few FIVB rules that I like. The host country cannot have 2 teams in the same pool.

Never knew that about host countries not having multiple teams in the same pool. Pool B for the women is going to be pretty interesting.

Does anyone have a link where you can watch these matches or at least live scores? FIVB isn't working.

Looks like a tough road for Pavlick/Branagh in that pool. They didn't do well against Argentina and get Juliana later today and Larissa in the morning.
