Andi Jackson at 6-1 from Colorado instead, minus 4 inches. I like all my front row players, the pins and middles, to be at least 6-3. A preference and strong trend in major college volleyball. But Nebraska took her commitment as a probable middle but she is versatile, very explosive, quick with a very live arm and terminal. Basically from Husker Jen. I believe she was recommended to Nebraska by former Husker Christina Houghtelling. Andi, and the other two Nebraska committed 2023’s, were at last weekends Nebraska dream team camp. I think you want your middles around 6-3 for the block. That is the norm lately but plenty of exceptions playing very well in major college volleyball at the pins and to a lesser degree the middles. IMO. Height isn't what you're looking for. You want a combination of standing reach, approach jump, lateral agility, and ability to read the offense. Height is a decent proxy for standing reach, a poor proxy for approach jump, and conveys no information about the last two. Caring whether your middle is 6'3" vs. 6'1" isn't going to matter unless everything else is equal and everything else is rarely equal. If you watch Andi in person, you'll understand why she was an immediate take. She's not just power 5 athletic, she's elite.

Those main four qualities plus being 6-3 to 6-5 for a middle would be the perfect combinations. Lauren, as an example, is also very explosive off the floor and very quick for her size. I’m very happy in getting Andi Jackson. She was an immediate take by the coaching staff with no hesitation and so that is great news for Husker fans. They can be extremely selective and in no rush but filled their apparent 3 scholarship total for 2023 in less than five days after their dream team camp. Enough said.

It's not like future recruits don't know that Nebraska is transfer U. That seems like a long since dead narrative. Is Nebraska even near the top in transfers anymore? Everyone is Transfer U now. Except Stanford

For everyone discussing MB height, let's remember Kayla Caffey is listed at 6'0"

It's not like future recruits don't know that Nebraska is transfer U. It hasn't stopped John Cook from getting a constant stream of top out of state talent to commit to Nebraska. It's obviously working for them as a program to not keep lesser talent on the roster and if the recruits don't have issues with it when they are pushed out, then I'm not really sure why people would have problem with what happens there. “To not keep lesser talent on roster” They don’t ask them to leave or make them leave, this narrative is as tiresome as it is inaccurate. Their transfers are almost exclusively non-starters in a great program goi g to less competitive programs and starting.

There are plenty of schools that do not encourage (or tell) players to leave. Plenty of them. If you recruit a player to your program, it seems like a mutual responsibility to make it work.

If you recruit a player to your program, it seems like a mutual responsibility to make it work. Like transferring in two intraconference Senior OH with the obvious intention of them benching the player you recruited?
