Maggie Mendelson is a Husker. The 6-5 combined basketball/volleyball recruit will probably be on basketball scholarship. Her finalists were Nebraska, Minnesota, Texas and Washington. The plan is to arrive in June and take two weeks off after volleyball in December. Plus play some basketball in the summer. This isn't a "probably". NCAA rules state it must be a Basketball scholarship if she's playing both. Also, I used to like the comprehensive list of recruits that used to be on this thread a few years back. Taking an attempt at it for the current recruits, but I probably missed a few things. Feel free to edit or correct me! 2022 RecruitsMaisie Boesiger (S) - 5'6" from Norris, Nebraska (Norris) Bekka Allick (MB) - 6'3" from Lincoln, Nebraska (Waverly) Hayden Kubik (OH) - 6'2" from West Des Moines, Iowa (Valley) Maggie Mendelson (MB) - 6'5" from Ogden, Utah (Fremont) 2023 RecruitsCaroline Jurevicius (RS) - 6'2" from Chardon, Ohio (Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) Harper Murray (OH) - 6'2" from Ann Arbor, Michigan (Skyline) Bergen Reilly (S) - 6'1" from Sioux Falls, South Dakota (O'Gorman) Andi Jackson (MB/OH) - 6'2" from Brighton, Colorado (Brighton) I know someone used to do writeups for the recruits in their respective State tournaments/playoffs. I've seen a few Lincoln Arneal tweets, but would be great if someone had all that together!

Bergen Reilly won a state championship with O’Gorman yesterday.
Harper Murray’s Skyline team finished runner-up in Michigan’s Division 1.
Maisie Boesiger’s Norris team was runner up in Class B. Bekka Allick’s team reached the semifinals of the same class.
Caroline Jurevicius plays for Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, not Gilmour.

And Bergen Reilly is from Sioux Falls not Sioux Valley. Sioux Valley is a small consolidated school district composed of three towns (Bruce, Sinai, and Volga) between Brookings and Madison. Sioux Falls has almost tripled since I was a kid with a population now (190,000) that is just a tad bigger than Chattanooga, Tennessee and the same size as Knoxville, which are the 3rd and 4th largest cities in Tennessee where I now avoid South Dakota weather. BTW: the town (Plain City, Utah) where Maggie goes to school has about 7000 people.

Any chance Maggie Mendelson might play or possibly want to play OH? Seems like somewhere I heard she has played some at OH recently.

Sounds like a really heavy load for Mendelson . I hope she can handle it Time will tell. It appears she favors VB now over BB, but that could change. She did say playing BB helps her improve at VB, and vice versa. As she matures as an athlete that effect may lesson. Time will tell as it always does. She is a very gifted and dedicated athlete with lofty goals. Very happy to welcome her to the Huskers. PS was tempted to welcome her to Huskerville (not just Lincoln, but the entirety of the Husker fan base). Too cute? Husker Nation better?

I have a question concerning recruiting. The NE coaching staff has put together a string of highly ranked recruiting classes. I'm a relatively new VB fan, my interest peaking within the last 5 years. The 19, 21, 22 and 23 recruiting classes maybe all ranked #1 nationally, if not very close. The 20 class was also very highly ranked. Is this unique to the last few years? Has Nebraska recruiting improved?
I maybe over exuberant. Recruit ranking is a nebulous topic as the SA recruits are ranked based on their HS and club performance thru their sophomore HS year, at least initially. Many athletes peak later than that, and some SAs just fly under the radar, making these recruiting rankings a bit unreliable. On the other hand it appears that the NE staff recruits based in part on performance and evaluations from their clinics and game play. Actual performance not 3rd party rankings.

I would have liked to see the coaches' faces when she just showed up to commit. Payback for the Durango surprise show up and Jalen's numerous show ups? I really like the way she thinks.

Makes me wonder if she may want to play OH, which could change the future depth outlook at MB. Regardless MB depth looks good. Better if Callie returns for her final year IMO.
