Are we finished with 2026 recruitment? I read Lincoln's recruit report and it seems like the coaches are looking at Ella Grivna the 6'6 middle from Louisville. And she is the only uncommitted '26 recruit there. Maybe they want to add another MB.

Are we finished with 2026 recruitment? I would guess that we are for now. The two X factors are 1. the possible increase in volleyball scholarships due to pending NCAA reforms; and 2. the possibility that Nebraska will have a new volleyball coach in 2026. Nebraska only has 14 players on the roster right now. If the number of scholarships goes up to 15 or 16 then we could see either transfers in, or new recruits, or both. John Cook is 68. It is not crazy to suggest that by 2026 he may be retired, and we may have a new coach. I would imagine a new coach may want to bring in new players, so that might open the window to currently recruited players jumping ship (just like Laney Choboy did regarding Minnesota) and potentially new recruits coming in.

Given the fact that he just signed a 5 year contract, let’s hope he stays until his contract expires.

Her presence at the clinic seems to indicate some mutual interest.

The new contract guarantees he can stay through the next five years if he wants to, but the truth is he can retire anytime he wants. He could retire tomorrow and the new contract wouldn't prevent that. I guess he will stay as long as he feels healthy, and he feels the job fulfills him. I have seen no indication he plans to retire soon, but at that age things can change very quickly, particularly regarding one's health. He will be 70 yrs old at the start of the 2026 season. That is really old to be working in such a high stress job. It wouldn't shock me at all if he retires in 2025. I hope he doesn't, but it wouldn't surprise me if he does.

I think that might have been true at one time, but Cook’s stress level seems arguably less than it was ten or fifteen years ago. He lets his assistants do meaningful work, takes time for his hobbies and fitness. He’s got great players to work with year in and year out. His legacy for whatever that matters to him is already cemented. He (like all of us) had a chance to preview retirement during COVID lockdown and did not seem to enjoy it.

Sigler is now the #1 ranked 2025 recruit for Prepvolleyball.com as per their new release. She was already the updated #1 in Prepdig rankings.
No denying her talent. Go, Teraya!

Wow, not sure who she reminds me of, but it's someone really good. I see a little Andy Jax on some of those slides! Quick arm. Huskers fans should be very excited.

That number 12 had some beautiful sets through the middle. Very fluid style.
