Well, those people are living in denial then. I guess it makes some feel better to think that their team beat themselves, instead of crediting Florida for doing everything necessary to win the match. It's really not giving Florida enough credit at all. That'd be like me saying USC didn't beat Florida, Florida beat themselves. It is okay for people to have contrasting opinions, but when the better team wins, and people don't give the better team credit, then that is wrong. You must buy yourself a thicker coat Gatorvball. Always attacking what you perceive to be the slighting of the Florida Gator Volleyball program. If I didn't know better, I'd think you were a lobbyist for Florida. Florida was the better team when it mattered in the National semi final match with Hawai'i. It's still silly to say they were the better team "all season". That is simply your opinion. Some may agree, some may disagree. Despite the way Hawai'i played, they still had every opportunity to win the match. With this in mind, Don't expect Hawai'i fans to pay homage to Florida anytime soon. "Hawai'i was winning Volleyball titles before the Gator Volleyball program was a gleam in it's fathers eyes." Just because you shake your tamborine in our faces, doesn't mean we have to drop a coin in your cup.

So, when a team beats another, on a neutral court, the winning team isn't better? What more do they have to do for some Hawaii fans to accept that Florida was the better team this past year? I just don't get it. Hawaii didn't beat themselves, Florida won. They came through in the clutch and won the big points when they had to. My OPINION: 1. When a team beats another, on a neutral court, the winning team is better -- in that match. So I guess I'm saying that that night, Florida was the better team. 2. When a team beats another, on a neutral court, the win doesn't necessarily mean that the winning team the better team that year. Teams can have off nights. 3. Hawaii didn't play their best. I've seen them play all year. I know they could have played better. Whether if they had played their best they could have beaten Florida playing their best is a question I cannot answer. I don't even know whether that was the best that Florida could play. 4. Maybe Hawaii beat themselves. Maybe Florida made Hawaii play less than their best.

[glow=red,2,300] Alright, that's it!! IB, GatorVball - go to your rooms!! [/size][/glow] Since when did this board become PrepVB!? I say that, not to offend JT, but to emphasize my point. There people can't express their opinions without others 'jumping' and/or viciously attacking them! Here (at least up now) people can have differences in opinion and (eventually) agree to disagree. LWood said it best in his thread - "The Infiltration Has Begun!!" BTW Gorf, your latest icon and caption (on the left-hand side) is friggin' hilarious!! ;D

I have to add that I'm tired and bored of this discussion. FWIW... Here's what I think....
There was a regulation court, referees and a scorekeeper. The match was played at a specific time and location to determine a winner at that PRECISE TIME.
Both teams had ample, and equal, time to prepare for the match. Everyone understood that the match result was final, with the winner continuing and the loser going home.
Each team showed up with their best game that day. Why would they show up with anything less? One team's best game wasn't good enough and they went home.
It's a FACT that Florida won the match and Hawaii went home! IT REALLY ONLY MEANS THAT FLORIDA WAS THE BETTER TEAM AT THAT PRECISE TIME.... WHEN IT COUNTED!
Why do you people try to argue/justify something different?
Answer: "Because we can. ;D"
