She can move back to Cali and take the Pepperdine job. Sure her kids wouldn't mind living in Malibu. Best of luck to her. Was it offered to her?

It seems like this could be a big year for coaching changes. If you were an AD who should be on your list? If I wanted a head coach with experience and proven history of winning I would look at
Travis Hudson Western Kentucky Barry Goldberg American Jason Kepner College of Charleston Brandon Rosenthal Lipscomb
I am sure there are other out there. I just thought I would throw a few names out there.

Todd possibly, bigger the school, bigger the money, bigger the yes Lizzy definitely needs to win more. One year at the tourney isn't enough.

Would Affolder be interested in coming back to the Indiana area (or Midwest area) as a head coach or 1st assistant? Somebody else is Dildine. I think she is primed and ready to be a head coach somewhere.

Hudson loves it at western and has taken passes at plenty of jobs. Barry, isnt going anywhere, Kepner doing well, but not dominating in his conference, Rosenthal like Hudson has turned down a lot of opportunities. Notre Dame in particular is as good a job potentially as any out there. Top flight academics, beautiful campus, history, located smack in the middle of some of the best club volleyball in the country, with the ability to draw kids from LA, Texas, Florida as well. If they commit the resources, they can lure top successful head coaches away from their jobs. Could be interesting. I would be looking more at Christy Johnson's, Craig Skinners......

Lizzie is big time respected, had an incredible resume, nobody had to talk Georgia into hiring a ridiculous succesful, and impressive female coach from the south.

That is rough considering, I believe, both her sons are still in school at Notre Dame. I hope she negotiated for tuition remission to continue in her buyout! Her husband is a high level administrator in the dept.

NC St.? Clemson? why can't you post Dorothy? Because they hadn't contacted incoming recruits, and those kids deserve to find out about it from the people in charge. That's why.

I'm sure it is. Why wouldn't it be? I guess it is...They got 5 wins and finished 11th (out of 12) this year, but have had 0 (zero) wins at least two previous years... Website still has assistant coach... She used to be in a DI previously...

She was explaining why she couldn't announce it was Notre Dame that was losing their head coach. Unless she has more info???

Christy Johnson Lynch has 5 seasons left when she was making $166,000 before she signed her new deal in 2012. She has a six figure bonus coming her way soon and has to be closing in on $200,000 a year. Skinner has 3 years left on a deal that gets him to $200,000 per year. Notre Dame would have to start the bidding at more than $200,00 for either of them. This March they hired a new women's soccer coach from Darmouth where she was 4-12, 13-4, and 8-6-2 with no NCAA bids. This season she went 14-6-2 and made the 3rd round of the NCAA tournament. Three years ago they hired a lacrosse coach who was 43-44 at William and Mary, again, with no NCAA bids. The Lacrosse team has made the NCAAs all 3 seasons under Halfpenny, with a first round win this past season. With both of those low key moves playing out so well, I could easily see them following closer to that line of hiring than breaking the bank (they have to pay Muffet McGraw $650,000 per year practically forever, and have one more year left on Charlie Weis' contract at $2.1 million). Granted, they should get a chunk of change from the ACC, but I could see them going with Melissa Myers from Illinois St, or even Julie Darty who was at Villanova (catholic, in the Big East with ND) and just took Jacksonville to the NCAA tournament, maybe Allison Yeager of Seton Hall. I'm not saying they WILL go that way, but looking at recent patterns, don't be surprised if they do.

First year HC who should have taken team to NCAAs as it was filled with sophs and juniors who old coach recruited and took to NCAAs the year before. Let's at least wait a few recruiting seasons before we throw out a name because she had a good year from the previous coach's players. ND is a huge job and that person will need to have good experience.
