A 5'10 OH playing for Washington? Jill Collymore was 5'10". Stevie Mussie was only 5'9". Cassie Strickland is only 5'8".

From the Volleyblog Seattle article: For comparison, Crissy Jones, who can jump out of the gym, posted an approach jump of 10'1" at TStreet. Scambray did a 9'8". Here is a link to Tstreet's 18s team last year. Scambray touched 9'-11. tstreetvolleyball.com/teams/18s/

Any news/rumors on the recruiting front for UW now that the coaching staff is settled? Getting nervous about the lack of MBs in the future. Would be nice to bring in an elite setter in the next few classes as well.

UW will be fine with Scambray and Jones on the team. But losing Vansant and Nelson will hurt the team so much and I don't see anyone stepping up, Schwan (sp?) I've seen her play in the Junior squad before and both her and Scambray are pretty much the same - the typical OH2. I agree, both Stanford and UW need to reload for 2016, good thing though there are a lot of outstanding players in the SOCAL for 2016. Washington is going to need a lot of players to step up. The loss of Nelson, Vansant, and McLaughlin is pretty much going to be very hard to replace. Scambray put up decent numbers. But the loss in leadership on the court and on the sideline is very tough. It may be rough for the huskies but they have some really good players. However, I'm not sure if they're huge contenders for the national title in 2015.

With JMac gone, I see UW going to a 5-1, especially if Beals isn't all the way back.

I agree, plus I think Tanner and Beals have very different setting styles, which can make it hard for hitters to adjust in a 6-2.

If they run a 5-1 with Tanner: OH:Scambray, Schwan OPP: Jones S: Tanner MB: Wade, Sybeldon L: Strickland
If they run a 6-2: OH: Schwan, Scambray OPP: Jones, Dehoog/Tanner S: Beals, Finau (I think these two are more similar in how they set) MB: Wade, Sybeldon L: Strickland

Not sure who the next go-to will be now that Vansant and Nelson are gone. Not sure if Scambray can be the go-to but she showed some good skills/promise.

Carlson was arguably a "go-to" at OPP for UW. Lowe certainly was at UCLA, especially after Love left. Hooker at Texas for the national team. Scambray is set at one OH spot. Optionally, Jones could be at OH, with Schwan at OPP.

My only point was that an OPP can be a go-to player. That'll most likely be Jones this coming season.
