You have an unhealthy obsession with Texas Volleyball They ruined my Big 12. I really like J. Elliott though. He is a really nice guy. Just like to see them lose in everything. Makes me happy.... It's just smack talk. Having some fun! So your smack talk borders on defamation and libel? Nice to meet you.

Can't wait to see Ebony play at Texas. She brings some much needed experience with the departures of Bell and Eckerman.
We've had some mixed results when it comes to transfers. Going back to Dariam Acevedo from Oregon and Jennifer Todd from Washington State to Tiffany Baker and Paulina Prieto most recently.
I try not to sweat the "unknowns" at this time of year as they pertain to past/current injuries. Definitely hope Ebony is getting the rest and recovery time she needs; I believe she is playing summer ball with one of USA squads (Pan Am?). Obviously, we are all eager to learn of Nicole Dalton's recovery, but I'm sure we'll know when the time is right.
Tiffany Baker's stay at Texas wasn't what many of us had hoped due to nagging injuries or no full recovery from surgeries; but, Paulina really helped us last season despite her injuries while at Penn State.
Even Yaz had some injuries last Fall she had to overcome in order to return to the court for the last half of the season and the playoffs.
And, players who have never had a history of injuries can incur one at any time. So, just part of the game.

If Dalton becomes healthy, does that make the 6-2 much more likely? Because I would love to see Ebony play as a 6 rotation opposite.

I have seen her pass though and I know she is a great ball control player. But is she good enough to be a consistent 6 rotation outside?

I wouldn't expect her to hit phenomenally the first part of the season but I think she would find a rhythm (she was the best OH in Colorado at one point). Plus I think having her pass 6 rotations would be more valuable than the lack of offense between her and *insert Texas pin hitter here*

What am I missing here? If Dalton is healthy, wouldn't they run a 5-1 with her?

She's not a great setter We've only seen Dalton run a 5-1 for an entire match one time last season and that was the exhibition match against that professional Chinese team. I thought she played really well since she was able to establish her rhythm and set every rotation, instead of coming in/out every 3. If she were fully healthy (which I highly doubt will be the case), she would be setting Texas in a 5-1 (at least at the end of the season imo).

Dalton was GREAT, but injuries. and I doubt she is 100% next season, and doubt she would even be able to run the 6-2.
Which leaves drumroll -----------------> Collins all alone! Ouch!

Because I would love to see Ebony play as a 6 rotation opposite. So would Texas' opposing coaches. A 6'4" girl with back problems? That's too easy.

I don't think her back is that bad anymore. I heard she is 100%. We will see.

If she is 100% I would be disappointed if she doesn't play 6 rotations. Imagine if she has another game like she did against Washington in '13 in the Elite 8. I don't even think she played back row, yet she was so dominant.

Really want Ebony to get the chance to serve, but I guess that can't happen if she's playing RS in a 6-2.
