Acevedo is a big loss and it’s unfortunate she wanted to leave. did she want to leave or did bringing Owobetye mean that she'd likely sit for another year? It didn’t mean that she would sit for another year, but it did mean that there was a greater possibility she would sit or be battling because the competition (particularly in the L2-type role) got stiffer when Ohwobete backfilled for Kelley leaving. And Gregoire was also in the mix too.

Oregon gets a 2025 Libero commit, Natalie Fukumoto. She was originally committed to Baylor. She’s from Hawai’i, plays for Moanalua HS and IMO the top Libero in the state http://instagram.com/p/DAPJz9NS78J I think a good option might also be a girl out of Westview in the Portland area, Mady LeBeck. I saw her play as an 7th or 8th grader and she was insanely impressive. She'll be one to look at. I definitely felt d1 talent even at that age.

IMO, I just think she has a much much higher upside than a 1 and done grad transfer in Ohwobete, and realistically, she's proving it in Minnesota right now.

It wasn't her starting spot even if Ohwobete hadn't come in - there wasn't separation from Gregoire even. Kelley leaving left the team with 4 scholarship pins for this season, that's not enough (unfortunately, the surprise late departure has left us in this position regardless). The idea that they shouldn't bring in someone good so that there wouldn't be competition is just not what it's about for Top 25 teams. It's unfortunate she didn't want to stay and compete to win the spot here. It's not like bench players in this program don't get chances to play or even win the spot.

Also, we can't surmise that not getting a starting spot was why she left 100%. I believe she mentioned a couple of times that the culture wasn't also a fit for her-not that it was a bad culture, and she did have high remarks for coach Ulmer. She committed so young, she wasn't sure what she really wanted from a program, and she liked Minn' Cook's philosophy/approach better. It happens. Disappointing for Ducks, but we are doing fine right now.

3 straight matches holding opponents under .100 - 7 straight under .200. Not a bad defensive streak for an "offensive-minded" team.

Not a blowout weekend for the Ducks but wins are wins! Friday they were pretty scrappy but Saturday they looked tired or disjointed somehow. This coming week will be a big test at OSU and then Penn State.

Yikes, that’s a brutal road trip. Focus on that first one Ducks!!

At least they are on West Coast time and it won’t feel quite so late for them.

I think I heard they don't stay a night in PA (football game weekend), but I could be remembering incorrectly. This is the toughest road trip on their schedule I think, based on the back to back, less than 24 hrs between matches and the travel.

Brooke soft launching her BF gagged me. I shipped them together so bad when they barely even knew each other and were both taken by other people, so it's crazy that they actually got together. 😭

Oregon is always a missing piece or two away from being a top 5 team. This year is the setting.
