Oregon is always a missing piece or two away from being a top 5 team. This year is the setting. I wouldn't say that based on the match vs. Penn St. Many factors played a role in that loss, not just Cline's struggles. Maybe I’m being harsh by comparing her to Pukis 🧍🏼

Not her best night tonight. But Cline is miles better than the setters between Plum and Pukis. But I do think she needs to work on a lot of stuff...

honestly, I think a lot of us knew this would happen on this road trip. We gave ourself a chance after the 1st match and finishing it 3-0, but we just didn't look good in back to back with travel. There's a reason the NBA doesn't do it any more. It's just bad for the teams, for the players, for injuries, etc... I think they did a study and the 2nd night with travel, was like 75-80% chance of losing.
So really, all things considered, we played horribly on night 2, but we battled, and while we lost, and IMO we didn't get blown out. It was close to a blow out, but not quite there. That said, if it was a Penn State coming to Eugene and playing UW on Thursday, then us on Fri, I think we prevail.

Is anyone else in Oregon really sick of Comcast’s BTN blackout? This is beyond frustrating.

Is anyone else in Oregon really sick of Comcast’s BTN blackout? This is beyond frustrating. saw this on PSU fb page yesterday: PSA: If you don't have access to BTN (or you have Xfinity so the OR match is blocked), open up a private/incognito browser, go to the Fox Sports website, and it'll let you have a 55 minute pass. After the pass is done, open up a new private/incognito and start over

Yes. A bad night from her. Matt has chosen to invest. Gotta hope she’ll be better next time out against a top team. What happen to the JUCO NPOY transfer setter? Is she injured? She's not injured. She played some vs. Penn State. Cline just beat her out. Cline is a more aggressive setter and better defensively, but Purashaj does have clean sets.

It’s also good to remember that Penn Stare has swept some good teams worse than they did us. When they are on, they are on.
We had a lot of mess on our side of the net and definitely need to clean stuff up though.

I think that if we played Penn State the way we played Ohio State, it would have been a lot closer. Maybe not a win, but I think it would have been a battle. But Penn State is a good team and it wasn’t an upset by any means that they beat us.
On to USC. I watched part of USC/MN last night and while USC looked pretty good, they were also at home against a banged up MN team. Their block looks pretty quick but I’m hoping we can exploit their (short) setter when she’s front row. Tuaninga seems to really lead her hitters and set very tight to the net, which could be good for us if our block is on.
It will be a fun match! A Wednesday night but not too late - hopefully the students show up in force!

I didn’t get to watch the UW match today, but what happened? I saw stats and that Mimi basically carried the team - was it normal serve receive difficulties and sloppy play, or something else?
