After moving to the right side when we switched to the 6-2, Taylor Agost hit .319 over the last 11 matches, on nearly 3 kps (in limited rotations as the 2nd right side). I think any lineup that doesn't start with her as OPP1 is unlikely. Can she play 6 rotations or would VanSickle come in as an attacking DS for her? The 5-1 would be better for Oregon IMO Agost serves well and can hit from the back, but I'd pencil in a DS. I think Moore would prefer a 5-1 but the 6-2 may work best. I don't think Oregon's offense is such that they view a 6-2 as prohibiting Stone from running a lot of slides... we actually ran it better out of the 6-2 this year and really struggled to get it going in the 5-1. In a 6-2 Van Sickle may compete for a setting spot as well as DS. It'll depend on how the pieces come together and progress in the offseason.

If you look earlier in this thread Bdorf was doing well out of the back row earlier in the season in practice, obviously one of those players that perform differently in matches. Agost is better at not overrunning the set and compensating with her wrist snap when she does.

Don't listen to the Oregon troll. He didn't even know who Stone was, let alone that she was going to Oregon. I'm honestly guessing she's a UW or OSU fan gone sour to get people to hate Oregon.

Two things recommend a 6-2: Improving a traditionally weak Oregon block and offering even more creative plays for the "mad scientist". Stone, however, does look to have a killer slide, and I would hate to lose that. Of course, the coach is so experimental, I could see slides in either direction by different players in combinations with all sorts of tasty X plays. Future looks really Duck-friendly.

It's pretty simple to run all the slides you want in the 6-2. You call slide and the opp automatically goes x. Just takes a little training but it's no big deal

Add me to the #Stoner crowd. In addition to her obvious physical skills, she seems like an impressive teammate and leader. For some other news on our '16 class, here's a nice story about Brooke Van Sickle's Regional POY honor, with a nice video where she talks about dealing with and coming back from a knee injury. Columbian ArticleHere's a story from the SD Union Tribune about Jolie Rasmussen's HS team's heartbreaking loss in the SoCal finals and another feature on her from earlier in the year. I guess Lanier must be dominating all the AZ VB headlines because not much has been written on Johnson. Here's the match write-up on her state title victory.

Oregon secured its first 2018 commit, setter Kylie Robinson from San Gabriel Elite 16-1. Newly converted to setter, she was All-Tournament at Junior Nationals and a PrepVB Club All-American.
Congrats Kylie!
