If she moves to OH and plays 6ro, her L skills will continue to be honed. But she wouldn’t get the same reps. She’ll also have to focus more on hitting and blocking, which I’m sure she’d have to do a lot this year with not doing it last year. And I assume if/when she is a 6 rotation OH, she’ll probly play middle back to hit the pipe. Just wasn’t sure if that hurts her chances not having the same reps as a typical 4-year libero. doesnt usav put libero middle back?

It doesn’t hurt anything. OH’s who transition to L are good enough to know what their set of responsibilities are. Taking on more doesn’t make her any less of a volleyball player.

Oregon announced an addition to the 2019 roster. Jade Sadeiko OH from Estonia. Jade is pronounced yah-day.

doesnt usav put libero middle back? Not as of late. Yeah, Courtney has been playing left back, but in years past, they have had the L play middle back at times, and I know the mens team has E. Shoji in middle back defense (which still doesn't make sense to me)

doesnt usav put libero middle back? Not as of late. The mens team has been doing it a bit lately. But I think i'ts because of the OH2 isn't that great. Muagitutia is a good passer, but doesn't move well, thus he's a really bad middle back player. Moving the libero to deep just made more sense.

I don't think it would hurt her at all. I think having reps and playing different positions hones different aspects of your game which in turn would help her make good defensive positions at libero. That said though, maybe Brooke just wants to be an OH too. Maybe she wants a shot at being a 6rotation OH that could be an all-american and try out of the National team. She's already proven herself as a libero, adding to her resume and further showing flexibility helps her overall value to TeamUSA.

Based on what's going on at Anaheim, I don't see how you could say playing outside in NCAA play is in any way a detriment to being a future NT libero.

As a matter of fact it might be better for her to be an OH, as the great college liberos have been getting beat by hitters for that position

I'm not convinced that Nuneviller can be effective enough at OH, but I'm hoping she pulls it off. I know that Williams is mentioned as a possible starter, but what about this Estonian girl? I guess if Nuneviller is the OH2 and plays along with Johnson and Stone, the main offense will run middle-right, and that might be OK.

Therefore, passing should be very good to run the ball through the middles and opp. Anyone know a health status on Borup?

Still working her way back, not looking to rush it too quickly for short-term gains. Nuneviller has improved physically over the last twelve months, I was surprised at her hitting from what I saw of the Spring season and Europe trip.

Why can't every coach share in this philosophy or mindset? Sigh

As a matter of fact it might be better for her to be an OH, as the great college liberos have been getting beat by hitters for that position I believe she will have to be really good at OH in order for her to play the position professionally and get the serve receive reps necessary. I question how effective of a scorer she will be, but I certainly think she is a baller. If not, then she will have to decide if the challenges of being a libero playing overseas is worth it and if she can find quality/competitive opportunities to prove her worth.
