That looks like a bag they just threw on it. I understand trying to throw opponents off and all that but there's no way she plays this weekend right? She was screaming in pain last night. Another player’s insta showed her in a boot with crutches. Hopefully just a sprain but seems highly unlikely she’ll be on it this weekend. Actually maybe that takes some pressure off the freshmen since no one expects them to win against Penn St or Minny without both Borup and Willow. Play, get reps, get better.... Well, there was a small chance she also tweaked her knee there too, but at least we're clear there. How many times has she rolled her ankle? 1st times are the worst

How has Murphy been doing in the libero role? Not strong at all. Tastad or Van Sickle might have beaten her out for that spot had they stayed. Even rasmussen. Serve receive is dire, almost worse than middles playing backrow taking a serve receive. Her defense is ok though. Definitely still a freshman and have a lot to learn. No. Neither would have beat her out. Murphy was in the gym with one of them all spring and the other didn't have the passing numbers to be in contention. Amanda Benson got aced like 5 times and couldn't pass a tall in her first real road match against a good serving team (Michigan St., IIRC) and she turned out "just kinda alright". Murphy is good. She had a poor performance last night. She will rebound.

What does "pass a tall" mean? Is that a typo or a volleyball colloquialism that I don't know. EDIT: It just came to me. She couldn't pass at all ......

Posting on my phone 🤷♂️ I was hoping that it was something new. I've heard of people passing "dimes" or "threes" or "nails" - maybe passing a "tall" was a reference to the height of front row vs. back row players.

Murphy's defense was ok though, she might be a phenom DS, better than the other two in that department. But that girl from portland wetton, looked every bit as good as Murphy. Might look bad for libero recruiting though, if this phenom libero recruit is one of the worst passers in the team. You could have switched the two and you wouldn't know which one was highly recruited.

Dude it was one match, and she didn't play well. She is one of the best passers on the team and would have been last season as well. She passed really well in Week 1 and in the gym since she got there in January.

That was her first match with high stakes in a tough environment, both physically and emotionally, she is a stud and you will all get to see why she was ranked as the top 2019 libero by all the college coaches that put her there. BTW, no one really had a good match last night for the team except Ronika, give them some time to gel together. The lineup even changed from the first matches in regard to rotation. With Willow looking to be out (hopefully short term--please), looks like one senior, one sophomore and 6-7 FRESHMEN will be getting some high level volleyball experience in the regular rotation this weekend!! #GoDucks Yikes. Can Ronika still redshirt if this is just going to be a rebuilding year?

Yikes. Can Ronika still redshirt if this is just going to be a rebuilding year? Only if she has a season ending injury. No INJURY please!!! Watching Ronika lead this talented young team is fun to watch, she has a long career in this sport if she chooses. This year is providing her the opportunity that will make her future even brighter!

Anyone want to guess where Oregon is ranked in AVCA poll tomorrow? Their losses this week were to teams all ranked higher than their current ranking of 10th. Is it likely they land somewhere in the 12th to 14th range?

I'm sure they will. The best passers started by getting mauled by the other teams early in their careers.
