Oh, so you're at practice and know how the teams train? You're party to the innerworkings of the program enough to call them lazy? Come on, people. Rankings and recruiting ratings are a guess and being good on paper doesn't always translate to the court. But to call them lazy is disingenuous, at best. The program has been through a lot in the last few years. I have no doubt they will be fine. The Monday-morning Quarterbacking by a bunch of people who have likely never been more than mediocre at anything in their lives while taking pot-shots at athletes competing at the highest level here in the states is just downright obnoxious. Be critical of play, decisions, etc. But I'd refrain from making value judgements about work ethic of the athletes on the court. It just makes you look stupid. Oh please. Look at you coming in here all mighty. No amount of bickering from you OR me is going to change their win loss record or level of play right now. It's up to them. Not mighty. Just get so tired of people with little-to-no insight into the team making value judgements about work ethic. As I said, criticize performance, coaching decisions, level of play, whatever. But to call the team lazy is absurd.

Since people are a little sensitive with the wording let me put up the actual quote

And in all fairness, I still think they can be not just a good team, but a great team. You see the flashes of brilliance here and there. They need to set Stone like Kehoe set Akinradewo years ago.

Since people are a little sensitive with the wording let me put up the actual quote But how do you know that these girls are not working hard? If you are at the practices making this statement, then fine, but if you are basing it off second hand knowledge, or none at all, you should not be posting this. Honestly, based on body language on the court, and lack of energy at times, this seems like a mental issue, rather than a technical one. Hoping Oregon can get out of this slump, as Johnson and Stone deserve to go out with a bang.

I don’t get how you see mental mistakes and succumbing to pressure and conclude the team is lazy. They’ve got issues for sure, but they’re trying - and probably trying too hard not to make a mistake.

I've always had a problem with the view point that 'hard work' isn't an innate talent as well. Some people have what I believe is 'hard worker' DNA. They are born with an innate ability to work hard and get the most out of every other talent they possess. What ever problem and adversity they come up against, they have the ability to 'hard work' their way to success, even to succeed beyond imagining.

I don’t see lazy with this team. I think they overthink pressure situation and maybe force some things. They also have a freshman setter. They would have won had they got the ball to Stone a little more. They will be fine but this year might be hard to get into the tournament. They are a top 50 team but obviously have a very difficult schedule. OSU is a strong team when they are working together. Watched them get blown out by CSU for two games to turning it around and almost taking them to 5.

Oregon at 24-20 first set. Ronika is 6/0/8. Bacon is 1/1/3. Why has Bacon been struggling so much offensively in recent matches? She’s an unbelievable athlete.
