If the injury is bad (hopefully not), Ronnika and Willow are going to have to play because they love the sport. The freshman are certainly struggling to pass, set and kill at the moment, this could be a last place team we are looking at, and by margin. She did walk off the court with help though, so at least that's encouraging and as thus likely a sprain. Still at this point, she'll be out for at least a week if not 2. Yes, sprain...If up to her I imagine she will give it a go on Sunday...

Dang there must be some sort of curse with these Oregon girls. Kidding aside, get well soon BN, JR, BVS.

Colorado is in the same boat. CU has had injured players for several weeks and 2 key starters out of matches recently. When that kind of bad luck happens, most teams can't get to a lot of wins with so many new faces on the floor. Luck of the draw sometimes.

Some horrific statlines from freshman during the WSU match:
Player A, starting MB 6'4 and #11 prepvolleyball recruit. 3 kills 3 errors 9 attempts .000 Player B, starting OH 6'3 and #23 prepvolleyball recruit. 2 kills 3 errors 16 attempts -.059 Player C, reserve 6'3 RS and #25 prepvolleyball recruit. 0 kills 4 errors 4 attempts. -1.000
Cannot find a way to put the ball away right now.

I have not seen them since Pittsburgh. How is the setting coming along? I saw potential but the setting needed work earlier in the season. This team will be fine but it’s sad this is how Stone and Johnson’s career will end.

But at the same time, Kylies location needs to improve. Way too many tips, pushes, and trap sets to be hitter error. At this point, imo, it's time to slow things down a little bit. Running a fast offense is a beautiful thing when it's working, but too many times it is just rushed leaving hitters stranded and Kylie rushing.

From seeing the Stanford match after a couple of early season matches, it does seem to me that Murphy's passing has improved a lot in that time- she had serious problems against Pittsburgh, especially.

You mean starters.
Ulmer not playing BVS 6 ros was the last straw.

WSU beats Oregon at home for the 1st time since 2005.
Last weekend WSU beat USC at USC for the 1st time since 1998.

I think if anything, this season shows that if the team is young and especially inexperienced with high level of playing, you can't put them through a gauntlet early like this year's schedule. I'm sure many of these freshman were not this bad coming in, there's a reason they were highly ranked in the first place. First part of the season just ruined their confidence and chemistry.

I think you’re right that the early and tough road trip hurt them mentally, but it’s easy to forget that coaches schedule these out often a year or more in advance. No way Ulmer could have known when he scheduled that he’d have 2 seniors (borup and Johnson) out with injury during that stretch plus 2 of the freshmen (Hansen and Laita) injured as well. I think this just has to be a rebuild year and hope everyone grows through the experience but doesn’t give up.

They had 3 top-50 opponents out of 9 non-conference matches. That's not a particularly tough schedule.
