When is the last time Oregon missed the NCAA tournament? Last week I thought they still had a shot but did not see them going 0-2 in Arizona. My two teams Oregon and Colorado are both very young but still performing below expectations. I would never have thought 3 months ago the final match between Oregon and Colorado could be for 11th place. I just hope both teams see the potential and transfers do not happen after this season. Maybe there is still a miracle for Oregon. 10 matcha is a lot of volleyball.

I see another big exodus at the end of this year!!! My hope is they can play out the remainder of this season with nothing to lose and enjoy playing and see what they can really do. The expectations were so high with such a young group, and with the lack of depth and injuries they couldn't find any consistancy against more mature teams early on. Unfortunately having a losing record going into PAC-12 just amplified the pressure to win as we all have seen especially at the end of sets. After losing to the Arizonas, the pressure is really off, so just go out there and enjoy competing. We all are so bummed to see Ronika and Willow go out like this, so I hope the rest of the team treasures these last matches with them. They both are amazing women! I can't wait to watch their pro careers! It truly is a great group of young athletes with talent also. They will all have a year of experience playing lots of close matches, Taylor Borup back, Alex Laita healthy and a couple very solid 2020s (in addition to a potential transfer with a scholarship open) they could make some noise in 2020. I hope they can all see that they could be something special next season. #GoDucks

The Arizona losses were so demoralizing. I just felt if they could win two big road matches, they could maybe create some magical run to .500. First, losing to ASU in 5 was really the nail in the coffin. To make matters worse, Oregon was up 22-16 in the 4th set to push Arizona to a 5th, and they ended up losing 26-24. Just a sad situation. It's criminal for a Ronika-caliber player to not play in the tournament.

Did the change from the Sr. setter last year to the Freshman setter (now pair of freshmen setters) this year make THAT much difference as to take an Elite 8 team to RPI 83?

Generic question to UO posters here: did c4ndlelight disappear ("go to ground", it's known as)?

The funny thing is, as much as the setter this year has struggle, she's still leaps and bounds better than both of the ones before (with the exception of last year's break out year). However this year, UO just has a struggling libero, setter, middles (even stone has been hitting poorly in some matches) and outside hitters. Another mass exodus and Oregon could be the next cellar team, which is mindblowing considering how many good recruits they have.

so who will pick up Nuneviller? I can't imagine a player with National Team talent would want to stay on a team that didn't make the post season.
It seems Oregon's coaching staff is not the best at recruiting and/or developing setters.

You're not wrong but man it is sad that your first statement is so true...that good players just pick up and go. I hope Nuneviller stays (unless of course there is more wrong than just bad VB). Transferring has become very normative and is even modeled in professional sports like NBA and NFL Agreed about setting there at UO...I think it's both, they've gone hard after decent setters but not great, and their progression is hard to see once there.

It seems Oregon's coaching staff is not the best at recruiting and/or developing setters. Well she is not national team talent as a hitter and I think she really wants to hit in college. I don’t think she would be the OH1 on one top 25 team this year. Agree she would Libero on most, if not all (not Stanford or Penn State) of them. I actually think her playing Libero at Oregon would help them a lot but she/coaches seem dead set on her hitting.
