Last night was the Tony awards. I am a HUGE fan of Bette Middler who won best actress for Hello Dolly. I am also a big fan of her tony awards speeches. She won the night there too!

I haven't watched the Tony Awards yet-on my DVR at home. Ridiculous Bette didn't perform. I heard the song that was performed from HD was the worst erformance of the night.
My daughter and I are going to NYC in September. We are seeing: Hello Dolly , not with Bette cuz it's a gazillion dollars and sold out (her stand by performs on Tuesdays), Waitress, Come From Away, Groundhog Day, and Bandstand. We will enter the Lottery for Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen.

Also, Saw Beautiful, The Carole King Musical a couple months ago. It was really good. Don't miss it if it comes to your town.

He is a real talent and I would like to be adopted for your trip! Lol!

Just returned from a mom/daughter trip to NYC. 6 shows in 5 days.
Anastasia-good, wouldn't see it again. Bandstand-really good. About PTSD after WWII. Music and choreography was fantastic Waitress-my daughter went to this while I went to Bandstand. She LOVED it. School of Rock-really funny. Such talented kids. They played their instruments live. Hello Dolly-AMAZING. Bette Miller was on vacation. The only reason we were able to get tickets. Just fantastic. Come From Away-favorite of the trip for both me and my daughter. It's about Gander, the town in Newfoundland that took in all those people on 9/11. I laughed and cried. Go see it if you have a chance. Wicked-We won lottery tickets, front row. My 16th time seeing it. The current Elphaba was REALLY good.
We did TKTS booth for everything but Come From Away. 50% off and great seats. Front row even for School of Rock. We tried the Lottery for Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen-no luck.
I❤️NY.

I’m baaaacccckkkk.
Finally saw Hamilton last night. “Only” paid $200/ticket. They were going for $800 on Craigslist. Pretty amazing show. I had listened to the music (thank heavens) many times. Still, I had to really concentrate. Turns out politicians have always been scoundrels.

Musicals have never appealed to me. They’re not for everyone. It’s an expensive hobby, for sure, but I just love it.

I watch musicals on TV via DVD/Blu-Ray. Going to an actual theater is outrageously expensive. Ultimately, not worth it if you have terrible seats -- and 90% of the seats are terrible.

In Civ VI, when you build the world wonder Broadway, you get to put a written great work into there and some musical great works. In the game I'm currently playing, my written work is "The Prince" by Machiavelli and the musical work is "Ode To Joy" by Bach. Imagine a musical version of Machiavelli set to Bach symphonic music. Now there is a hit show!

Well my husband pulled off the perfect early birthday Greek Island, Broadway and not a year older. I will admit to not having seem the stage version before. I do so love live theater - even the fact that people mingle in the lobby of greet each other when being seated in w a way that just doesn’t happen anywhere else. Kendra Kassebaum was great as was Sarah Rudinoff who played Roise. The flow of the show is better on stage and it definitely has much more of a Greek ethos v Hollywood compared to the movie version. My only disappointment was Palo Montalban who played Sam( he played Prince Charming v Brandy in the Brandy Whitney Huston remake of Cinderella) - miss cast IMO too youthful and honestly my husband bring an architect and my big love is so much sexier! . So fun to sing and dance along in the little after concert!
