Toppel 22 , Keenan 21 , Theocharidis 24 , at graduation ,Imagine a team with these 3 players - 5 - 6 years of experience past right now . any coach would love that. That would be Keenan at 27 and Toppel at 28, just wait til these two have a couple of years of International experience. lewis setter 27 years old (Junior come on ) !!!!!!

hey beachman, how can you argue that the facts are incorrect?? Those numbers come straight off of the Long Beach State web site. Unless the university is lying to us and putting up different birthdays on the website, i think that you're the twit who needs to do the research before calling the information "Incorrect as well, very incorrect!"

In perusing the LB State Roster, on their website, I find it kind of interesting that every one of their players (with one exception) is the age that you would expect them to be at this stage of their education. I also find it interesting that Lb State, unlike others(ie BYU and Lewis) actually list the birthdates of their players, ALL OF THEM. Check the other two websites and notice how "conveniently" they have left off birthdates, or perhaps this was just a "typo" of most all of their foreign players!!! Hmmmmmm.

And furthermore, I didn't start this thread, Tigfan did. He also made some interesting observations that hold true for a number(albeit small) of Universities who rely in significant part of foreign athletes for their Men's VB Teams. BYU, Hawaii, Lewis, IPFW, being among the most prominent. This is their choice and I don't begrudge them that fact. It's OK if they want to train foreign VB Players instead of our own home grown talent! However when a couple of the Morons who posted on this thread want to compare 18 year olds playing against 21 year olds instead of 18 year olds playing against 25 year olds I just felt that it was important to point out the flaw in the logic! I'll be at the Pyramid tomorrow watching some great volleyball, while most of you will be 'WISHING" you were watching in the best Collegiate VB Venue in America!

what still remains true is that you dismissed the information as wrong even though it came straight off the lbs site. All of the lewis players have their birthday's on the roster, its BYU that doesn't have most of them. I say as long as it is within the rules, who cares how old people are and just let them play. Lets just enjoy the game tomorrow between two of the oldest teams as much as we would if it was two of the youngest teams. I'm rooting for lewis because i would love to see a team from the MIVA win it all because everyone has been saying how weak the MIVA is and how lewis will get swept by pepperdine. I'll agree thatsome of the MIVA is weak, but Lewis, loyola, ball state, and sometimes Ohio state and IPFW are great teams too.

Beachman, I didn't say anything about foreign players, just the fact that they are all OLD MEN who are playing in a league of boys... it was just an observation... usually people don't read my posts, let alone respond to them... this is rare.

Old men are guys over 80, I don't see any guy hobbling around the court with a cane. This whole age equals experience argument is being blown out of proportion, Let the Cards fall where they may.

YOU were the one that brought up "17 year old Freshmen" and "21 year old Seniors" to state your argument, NOT me. Don't get upset at me that it went against you.

There are lots of foreigners that play on a lot of US collegiate teams. Doesnt the Beach have Yassir Sliti who makes 21 this month I believe? And hes only a Soph according to the Beach website. And isnt he from London,England?
Why doesnt anyone complain about USCs Thiago Barbosa? Hes a 20yo freshman from Brazil.....?

I thought you stated that the information I posted from the LBSU's site was "incorrect"? Admit it butt munch, you goofed and you are embarrassed over it as well. Now I know why you started on Costas and NOT on your own team's players, that is because you are jealous of ALL the awards he has achieved which you never gotten, and it makes you sick as hell. If Costas never gotten any awards whatsoever, his name and age would have NEVER came up from you.

You are right guess. It will be a long way before LBSU men's or women's teams will get an NCAA championship. I'd say maybe 10 years down the road.
