wow, interesting match. But what was up with Wilton subbing out Eyal Zimet? Thought that was kind of strange when other hitters were doing worse.

Azena looked very good, but didn't seem to be getting a lot of sets until the end of the match. Shanghai just looked scary. They had terminators at every spot. I started watching midway through G1 and wondered how UH could even take a game off of them. If anything, it was nice seeing them keep up, but it's a harbinger of things to come. The name of the game is siding out, folks. Shanghai was just unstoppable in that respect.

I thought the match was pretty good. The Warriors played decent, but their serving could have definately been better, and I think that Kimo Tuyay had an off match. But everyone has off matches and he'll comeback.
I think that Pedro played very well tonight and he should have started from the beginning. I agree Eyal should have stayed in. I also think that Matt Motter did an awesome job at libero. But Shanghai just over powered the Warriors.
It just looks as if the Warriors have a tough bench that at anytime if anyone is having a bad game anyone can come off the bench and produce. Well we'll just have to see how this season ends up.
Good luck to the Warriors and Congratulations to Shanghai Oriental for winning the Outrigger Hotels Invitational.

so I take it by these posts that UH got their butts kicked????Uh posters are usually in their own little world, just chattin away between themselves, like they were the only folks on this board! kind of self-centered, which explains why there is so much animosity towards you all!

Well 007, yes Hawaii got their b..t kicked but so did the Penn State the day before and Ball State the first day.
Shanghai Oriental from China had five National team members and they were all great players. I am sure all three teams had a lot to learn from playing against such great team.
If you are jealous of Hawaii tread, get more fans for your team so you can keep you thread going.
So there is your "mission" 007

Well 007, Im sure this is not the first time you have read an Hawaii related post or topic. As its been said in the past and many times, if you dont like it.....dont read it. Just move on and start your own thread. If Hawaii related information turns you off, buddy, no one is asking you to open it up.

It appears to me that 007 is just anti-Hawaii in all his posts. I always skip over a post if 007 is the author, and only read it if others have responded.

UH may not have won, but no team in the country would have been able to beat Shanghai. At least UH had the guts to schedule a team of their caliber early in the season, rather than scheduling teams like La Verne or Cal Baptist.
I also doubt that anyone here cares if there is animosity toward us.

It could be considered more considerate if you're posting first about a game and instead of typing in "party line" chatter you could let the rest of us in in your clique conversation. I don't think that's too much to expect.

Neutral you kind of hit the nail on the head, so to speak. It's amazing how the UH folks just attack the crap out of anyone who would "dare" make comments that could in any way be construed as being "critical" of their team(s). I'm still laughing at all of the "attack dog" responses! Go figure!!!!!!!

The Shanghai team was awesome ! I had never seen that tall chinese before, they were all so thin also but there vball game had me speechless !! they had text book armswings, and that setter was all world. Hawaii was just over matched from midway throught game 1, after that you could just tell that uh would not be able to compete at there level. Hawaiis serve recieve was bad mostly due to the constant presure of the SO JUMP servers.....

I applaud Hawaii for playing an exhibition match against a stronger and more experienced team (5 National Players from China). I didn't see the match, but even though Hawaii lost in three, 30-27, 30-19, 30-27 sounds like they held their own. Anyone can play weaker teams for their season warmups, so it takes guts to face a tougher opponent as pre-season play. Personally I think it's VERY SMART to see how you match up to players on the national level. I'm sure that Hawaii diagnosed their weaknesses(?)and what they need to work on for the rest of the season. I pity Hawaii's next opponent...

It's not the Critical comments that tick Hawaii fans off, it's the INTENT of the comments that people take exception too. We've read many of your anti - Hawaii comments. It seems as though you like to troll. You are free to say what you want, but wonder not why Hawaii fans bark at your posts. I've made some "troll " comments too, so enjoy yourself.
