Question about the women's qualifier. How is it that both USA teams are in the qualifier but last week they had to play a country quota match?
The other three American teams were placed directly in the Main Draw both weeks.

Umm... It looks like Phil & Nick aren't playing this week. So 3 men's teams in the Main.

Is it me, or does the FIVB website suck?

Any idea why? Hopefully not another Phil injury Nope, just went on FB, didn't see anything. I don't blame them, they can take some time and stay fresh. At their age, I can see how playing two matches a day for three days in a row could really take it out of a team. The FIVB website is indeed awful. Its hard to navigate, you cant find information you want and the live scoring is always an issue.

I don't like the two matches a day format, it tires me just thinking about it. I think it should be one match every other day, give plenty of time to rest, rehydrate, take in a movie…..come on, these guys are professional athletes who are suppose to be in phenomenal physical condition. Four matches a day should not be a drain on these guys.

As of a few days ago (maybe Sunday I had looked) Phil and Nick we're on the list of Entries by Country on the FIVB website. I don't see them anymore though. Don't they pretty much need to play as many events as they can to try and qualify for the Olympics? How many more until they've met the required amount?

They have qualified though, all they would need to do is show up to three more events There are plenty of events left on the calender for Phil/Nick and Kerri/April to get their quota of 12. This tourney would be a month straight in Brazil for Phil/Nick. Same for a few other US teams that are playing all 3 events. Not exactly ideal situation when you are living out of a suitcase.

I wonder if they were planning on playing and then decided to withdraw after their 5th place at Rio (self proclaimed not good but not bad showing by Phil). Maybe they're tired and decided some rest would be better.
