Nebraska and Penn St have 3 alumni each on the 12 woman roster of the USA Women's Volleyball Olympic Team. It is noteworthy that UConn has 5 alumni on the Women's Basketball Olympic team (Maya Moore, Diana Taurasi, Brianna Stewart, Sue Bird and Tina Charles) and 1 current Junior (Kia Nurse) on the Canadian Olympic WBB team plus the UConn WCBB coach, Geno Auriemma who is head coach.
Some schools just do it better than others it appears. Did I leave any teams or schools out?
Edit: Oops, maybe only 2 for Penn St since Nicole Fawcette didn't make the final 12-woman roster.

I don't know what you mean by "correctly", since my point was the 12-woman current roster, but indeed (per my edit) there are only 2 Penn St alumni on the team. Also, I appreciate you posting the entire "team" list.

Also, besides the 3 Nebraska and 2 Penn St alumni, my next most fav on that team is Courtney Thompson. I luv it whenever we get a quick view on TV of Courtney leading some crazy, silly, cheerleader drill. LOL.

All the girls active and reserve should be mentioned imo .....especially since the games haven't started.

Does anyone think that she would be in her current position without the training and experience she received at Nebraska? Also, what school does SHE credit?

Does anyone think that she would be in her current position without the training and experience she received at Nebraska? Also, what school does SHE credit? She was really good before she got to Nebraska (see below). It's not like Nebraska saw her "raw" talent and figured they could mold her into a great player in one season. I'm assuming she wanted to go to a contender for her senior year and Nebraska wanted an impact player. However, your second question makes more sense to me. From her Nebraska Bio page:

Does anyone think that she would be in her current position without the training and experience she received at Nebraska? Also, what school does SHE credit? You bet. Of her entire volleyball career, the only year that really developed her skills was the one year she spent at Nebraska. I'm sure that must be true.

Is this jealousy, pettiness or what? Would it make you feel better if we Nebraskans subtracted one player from the Roster? Would that do it for ya? She herself admitted that the Nebraska staff took her to the next level but I bet she is lying.

FWIW, every player will see court time as you need to have played in order to get a medal.

Are we talking all women's teams? Because I'd think track and swim have large concentrations in certain areas.

The USA field hockey roster has most of their players who come from about a 50 mile radius of Philadelphia.

The numbers change slightly, but the majority of the players come from the same places over the years.
Colleges Hawaii Long Beach Nebraska Penn State Stanford Texas USC Washington
Clubs Sports Performance Norther Lights Encinitas Wave
Both of UCLA's recent players were Wave alums, but Wave also has Hagglund so I mention Wave.
And there is a lot of overlap with Northern Lights and Minnesota - NL gives you Kreklow, U gives you Berg. Six one, half dozen the other, though with Hugh at Minnesota you could certainly expect more from there going forward.
There are certainly outliers who don't come from the beaten path -Joines and Sykora were the outlier for a while, now it's Hill and Lloyd - so players can make it from anywhere, but for the most part they come from the same handful of gyms, short term and long term.
