Well, the first match in Group B is coming up for the US and its an easy match, against Puerto Rico. The result should not be in doubt. The succeeding matches will not be so easy however.
Brazil will have a lot easier time in Group A. Much as FIVB say the groups are randomly assigned, I can't shake a lingering feeling that the home team were given a undeserved helping hand here.
But anyhow, the first match for the US is coming up, we'll see how well its performance will be.

I think they probably want to face the Netherlands or Italy. USA, Serbia and China would be tough. Brazil's men got no favors in being stuck in the much tougher pool (along with the US). I don't think Brazil was given any gifts. Maybe Argentina tho...

Are the US going to save "the big guns" until a later match? Or bring out everyone, such that they all get an opportunity on the court, to give them some practice?

Remember in the Olympics, you play every other day. So you don't need to save anyone....they have an off day following the match.
If I'm Karch, my 7 look like this:
Glass Larson Akinradewo Lowe Hill Adams Banwarth
Should be a nice 3-0 win in 1:22

But I suppose each team have their own plans regarding resting their top players (i.e. not revealing their "game plan" to their opponents).

"Seeded"...just a play with words.

No. The seeding is according to standard world rankings with the automatic #1 for the host country. It's not "random assignment" and it's not a "play with words". The seeding criteria are public and easily verified. Or you can keep making things up like you're doing.

The only issue I have with the seeding is that it takes into account 4 years worth of tournaments....teams can change greatly in that time period. but I understand the reasoning...

I know this is off-topic, but first gold medal goes to a USA athlete in women's rifle completion. Go USA!

When someone starts a match thread, can they remember to include at least the date and time? Links to streaming are great, although it will all be on the NBC olympics website.
