Canada 25-23 set 1, still standing. Looks like our Coach has decided that we will either win, or Scmitt's legs will fall off..lol
Vargass doing good work in the middle as well.

To summarize: Italy will advance as the #1 seed no matter what happens today USA will advance The winner of Brazil/France will advance If Canada wins vs Italy, they advance and it comes down to tiebreakers to determine the seedings. Though as Barnett said, there is minimal difference between the teams in Pool B so the matchup is going to be tough regardless. If Canada loses to Italy, it comes down to tiebreakers with them and the Brazil/France loser. well, if nothing else, it means that last match between Brazil and France will actually mean something.

The way Canada is playing right now, Brazil/France is a "win or go home" situation.

Canada wins the 2nd to go up 2-0. That apparently woke Italy up as they quickly have 3 aces and a 7-2 lead in the third.

Just looking at the math, USA is thru, but could finish anywhere between 2nd and 4th. Means only "set" match is Italy vs Iran. We could face either Argentina, Poland, or Russia? Do we have any preference?

I'd say Russia as we've handled them well of late.

I'd say Russia as we've handled them well of late. I would say not Poland... Russia has a mix of vets and rookies...and they are huge. I don't think our recent results mean much...

Am I off saying Argentina doesn't seem that frightening?

Am I off saying Argentina doesn't seem that frightening? From the looks of it, in today's match 90% of the crowd was passionate Argentinians. 1/4's is all about energy and Argentina will have a boatload of it. It will not be easy.

Late comment but well done Italy! Lost 3-1 right according to the script.
I love them bringing in Zaytsev at the end of each set to "try" to win. And Blengini being dramatic asking the mic guy to keep out of their "important strategic" discussion.
