Jesus, some people here are sure petty.
In 2012, the Brazilians earned a right to be happy and celebrate their gold medal.

I'm gonna guess Thaisa and Dani Lins will be following soon after Both of them could easily make it to Tokyo. I think Fabiana can too, but it looks like she's not planning on that. I expect Fe Garay and Juciely to retire from the team. Interested to see what kind of young talent Ze has in the pipeline. Are you sure Ze is coming back? I can see him retiring from the National Team also.

Watching Jaqueline Carvalho crumble into her mother's embrace after the match was a pretty emotional scene to watch. Heartwrenching. well, watching the Brazilians over the top and rub in your face celebrations when they won gold was not a pretty scene either. i still prefer to watch them cry They wear their emotions on their sleeve. I understand and appreciate you view and for sure agree.....however it was just a moment that I noticed and felt empathy.

I disagree... Brazil four years ago won the gold and then said that they proved that they clearly were the best team in the world .. I forget where I watched the interview but it was a big slam to the USA how they said it. I think Brazil forgets that they were almost out of the last Olympics too. Luck didn't strike twice.

What a great match! I had recorded it and started to watch it around 9:30 local time. After the first set I thought I would be getting to bed at a decent time. Didn't happen!
The emotion of the players, of the crowd, the intense play was so much fun.

Just wanna throw it out there too that aside from the Brazilians being so upset (which although it was hard and sad to watch I must admit that I was glued and watched the feed quite a while after the match had ended), it was really nice to see some of the Chinese players so happy. They really are a great team and they've been underperforming at OGs for some time now. They really fought hard and earned their victory over a Brazilian team that was looking a little too far ahead.

I would have much preferred to watch USA beat Brazil at home in Rio for the Gold. That would have been satisfying and meaningful.

A lot of them will be past their prime for Tokyo, but sad thing is I can't list one upcoming young player who can dominate and help Brazil be a gold medal contender then. Don't worry it's Brazil and its volleyball, I am sure their is a huge pool of young talent to train for the next cycle. That's a great group of champions from Brazil. I like that there country let them finish their run at home, they deserved it. Age caught them.
Gabi. It's one but it's a start. Hey USA had to send a few out to pasture. Brazil will too.

There's gotta be some players in the junior leagues we haven't seen yet. Hoping one or two OHs are 6' 3" or taller to match USA, Russia, Chinese height.
Really height's the main reason Brazil lost.

I do remember Sheilla saying something like she thought USA would choke because they have never won a major title. Back in those days when the Cuban kicked the butts of the Brazilians, Marcia Fu Cuhna would called the Cubans wild animals because of the way they celebrated thier wins. When Brazil climbed to the pinnacle, their celebration were just as bad. Success does not change a person , it reveals the true colors of a person. The Brazilians are no better than the Cubans. Furthermore the Brazilian fans are classless at this olympics games, booing the players Yes I am petty ! BIte me!

I am still mad at the poster who congratulated Brazil for winning the silver medal 4 years ago. This was obviously before the gold medal match. Jinxed them!
