I disagree... Brazil four years ago won the gold and then said that they proved that they clearly were the best team in the world .. I forget where I watched the interview but it was a big slam to the USA how they said it. I think Brazil forgets that they were almost out of the last Olympics too. Luck didn't strike twice. Berg and others also said USA was still a gold medal team. That's probably worse.

There's gotta be some players in the junior leagues we haven't seen yet. Hoping one or two OHs are 6' 3" or taller to match USA, Russia, Chinese height. Really height's the main reason Brazil lost. Passing breakdowns and a major drop in overall consistentency was the reason, then China started playing better and scrapped for the win.

Beware easy first set wins against a quality opponent. Brazil looked to have relaxed, but China fought back, and had a horse to ride. Hopefully a lesson the U.S. has learned.

Thank you, China! Team USA will send you a really big basket for this.
And it seems, Jenny Lang Ping's revenge on Brazil is complete.

So now the USA has to beat two teams twice to win gold. Not sure that's a good thing. At all.

China made tough serves late in sets. Brazil missed serves late in sets. Turn those around and Brazil wins

Zhu Ting is second in scoring (2 points behind Sloetjes) and is the second most efficient hitter behind Akinradewo.

That's amazing for an outlet OH, esp. given the competition. She's 21 years of age and apparently she received/signed a deal to play for a club in Turkey for over a million dollars

I wonder how China will respond against the Netherlands? China's young enough to have a letdown after a big upset, but I'm not gonna count out the coaching of JLP

Brazil's gonna drop off for a while. Who do they have in reserve? It seems most of their current 12+ roster is late 20's to early 30's Sheilla, Jacqueline and Fabiana have announced their retirement from the National Team. Is this official or speculation? Just wondering if there's a release somewhere.
