#5 in their own conference and IB has them in his top 25?? I think the Spudster might be wearing rose-colored goggles.

I like the #5 placement. In the recent past (2-3 years), the Vandals have ended the season one or two places higher than stated in the preseason poll. The two Pacific matches are definitely something to look forward to. GO VANDALS '04!!

I just have to ask this:
Has their ever been a correct coaches poll in the history of the sport in preseason? Yeah, I didn't think so.
I still like Idaho finishing 1st or 2nd in conference.

Now we're cursed. I think we do batter with out hte pressure, especialy since we will only start one or two seniors. I wonder if the coaches can vote for their own team in that poll? Did Kathy vote for Brian or did Brian vote for himself?

I would bet money that Kathy voted for Brian.....Brian would NOT vote for his team to be #1, but Kathy would.....and it could have been Charlie as well.

The press release does state that the coaches can vote for their own teams. As far as who cast the first place vote for LBSU, I'll let you and Beachman decide amongst yourselves. ;D GO VANDALS '04!!

Sorry you'll miss Idaho beating LBSU this year, Beachman, but it will probably be better for your heart if you stay home and not see it, anyway. ;D

Unless the injury bug hits the Beach, like it did last year, I don't see Long Beach losing to Idaho IB's point about injuries is well taken. Last year, our injuries were magnified because of a lack of depth didn't allow us to compensate for them. The coaches have done a good job of addressing this problem, and this year's team will be much deeper than those of the last two years. Inexperience will still be a problem at first, but if the team develops as the coaches hope, that should be mitigated later in the season. Should be interesting to watch. Based on pure talent, Long Beach should beat Idaho. But, we all know that talent is only one of many factors involved.
