The setting was not on point this weekend. I did like when Wise put huskey on the front row. just saying. I agree! I hope she continues with the two setters. I like Huskey's length and what she can do defensively and at times, offensively. I also think she has the better connection with Rhamat. Amen! Could of not said it any better. Kramer is a beast. Wise is using her size.

Huskey will def play a lot this season. I think the main reason she got pulled is Allie is much quicker and Nebraska was serving really well resulting in a lot of off passes taking Florida out of system more.

I'm excited to see young Monserez play for UF next year. She has size and speed. Will definitely be a good 5-1 setter without being a blocking weakness

I wasn't able to make it to the Nebraska game and was following along on twitter and wondering why she didn't play as much.

Love reading back through this thread at all the geniuses who said Kramer should not play MB.

Love reading back through this thread at all the geniuses who said Kramer should not play MB. And I'd be shocked if she isn't the national player of the week

Will definitely be a good 5-1 setter without being a blocking weakness Not sure that many that really follow the Gators would say that Monserez is a blocking weakness. Yes, it was great that Cheyenne came in and played really well and was very big in the front row, she contributes for sure, but there are plenty of players that get hit over occasionally. Allie is a fantastic athlete, has tremendous timing and Volleyball IQ. She contributes considerably in the front row and plays ridiculous defense as well on the floor. The libero is able to step in and play the second ball only when a setter is able to play the first ball hit at her. Before Marlie gets to Florida, and everyone should be excited about her arrival as she is the real deal as well, we should enjoy the All America Honorable Mention setter that led the nation this past year, and led the Gators to the highest hitting percentage in the nation. Allie isn't a blocking weakness and is a huge contributor to this team in multiple ways.

Question for Gator fans: Why is the attendance for last Friday's match (7500 - wow!) almost twice as big as Saturday's attendance (3800)?
And what's the capacity of the facility in Gainesville now?

The problem with this is that if they front row sub for Monserez, their only 6-rotation player is Snyder and they'll run out of subs unless Hammons is the other OH.

I think Hammons should get a shot to go full 6 rotations. I know she played front row a little this weekend, but I think it's time for a real opportunity. Soko isn't ready. I can see where she has some promise, but some of the plays she made looked really inexperienced

I can see where she has some promise, but some of the plays she made looked really inexperienced I watched the TX match and I don't think you can judge either one after the first weekend- both of their first weekends of college volleyball. Soko looked inexperienced because she is. She's also 4 inches taller than Hammons...and stronger. Hammons has way more game, but Soko has the potential to be an offensive weapon that Hammons probably can't be just due to her size and physicality. At least this year. Hammons needs a good offseason of strength work. That being said, there are a lot of factors in making that lineup. One of them is whether or not they want to go 5-1 or "5-2". If they feel like they're better with Monserez in the 5-1, then they will probably play the hot hand. To win a national championship, I think it'll have to be Soko. Live through the growing pains early. Let Kramer, Snyder and Rhamat carry the load. Joseph will have her moments, but consistency may be hard to come by. If they get half-way through SEC and Soko isn't showing she's ready, then maybe they go Hammons out there. But then you're relying on getting the ball to the middle a lot and that's hard to do consistently enough once tournament time rolls around and can Snyder be great a full season to provide that 3rd legitimate offensive option?

Question for Gator fans: Why is the attendance for last Friday's match (7500 - wow!) almost twice as big as Saturday's attendance (3800)? And what's the capacity of the facility in Gainesville now? Capacity of Exactech Arena at the Stephen O'Connell Center is over 10,100 guests. For Friday night's match versus Texas, the announced crowd was 7,523. The Athletics Department made a concerted effort (Operation 6K was the theme) to get as many students as possible early in the school year to attend. Without football or many other conflicts and a 7:00 scheduled start time, it worked well. While this was technically the second largest crowd to ever watch a Gator Volleyball match, the largest was tied into a Midnight Madness Basketball Practice in a match versus Georgia. One could easily argue that this was the largest crowd for a Gator's match in history and if you are playing the pre-season number one, that's good reason to come out as well. Saturday night, while playing the 2015 champs from Nebraska, the "push" wasn't there with the students and the start time in Gainesville was 5:00pm. That said, getting close to 4,000 people into the arena was big. In fact, the weekend crowd total of 11,300 surpassed the total attendance for the Gators last year at home when they played in their training gym on campus, the Gale Lemerand Center! The remodeled building is very nice, the seats are comfortable and the results were great for UF! Go Gators!

I would give her a bit more time but with both Hammons and Greer (waiting in the wings) and the talent around her Wise has to give her a timetable. Than you have the talent coming in next year, ugh. As for Joseph the athleticism is most definitely there but she has to stay consistent for UF to win big this year. Just saying.
