Not sure that many that really follow the Gators would say that Monserez is a blocking weakness. Yes, it was great that Cheyenne came in and played really well and was very big in the front row, she contributes for sure, but there are plenty of players that get hit over occasionally. Allie is a fantastic athlete, has tremendous timing and Volleyball IQ. She contributes considerably in the front row and plays ridiculous defense as well on the floor. The libero is able to step in and play the second ball only when a setter is able to play the first ball hit at her. Before Marlie gets to Florida, and everyone should be excited about her arrival as she is the real deal as well, we should enjoy the All America Honorable Mention setter that led the nation this past year, and led the Gators to the highest hitting percentage in the nation. Allie isn't a blocking weakness and is a huge contributor to this team in multiple ways. Nice post Mr Monserez. I've been called many things. Interestingly, that's not one of them Duplicate Prophylactic

I've been called many things. Interestingly, that's not one of them Duplicate Prophylactic I have two degrees from USC and am proud of it. I attended from 1996-2000 and 2014-16. Your immature condom joke tells me you can't possibly be Mr Monserez, as you have the mentality of a frat boy.

I am extraordinarily proud to be both a Bruin and a Trojan. I'm neither a frat boy nor immature. Just another take on your pen name. Do you know Mr. Monserez?

I see on Twitter UF picked up a 2020 commit -- Elli Mckissock out of Orlando. She's a DS. That makes 2 commits now for class of 2020 -- Mckissock and 6'3 lefty RS Francesca McBride. But what about 2019?? I haven't seen any commits come through yet.

Prob only looking to fill one spot with a MB. So no rush for that class.

With the Gators only playing #21 Michigan State this weekend (UNC-G and American will not make the trip), how much will that hurt their RPI?

My guess is Michigan State will help, given their ranking and opportunities to get some big wins in conference. Certainly would have been a good opportunity for more live games to work out some issues.

American is usually a pretty good rpi team. I see they rescheduled to host a tournament this weekend. Don't know much about unc-g, though they'll be in that tournament with American, fau and coastal Carolina. Maybe it's a factor down the road, but ultimately, safety comes first. With football cancelling the home game, due to insane traffic and fuel outages in gainesville, I'm kind of surprised they're even playing one match.

With the Gators only playing #21 Michigan State this weekend (UNC-G and American will not make the trip), how much will that hurt their RPI? It is a net negative (assuming they would have won those matches, which was a pretty likely outcome). But this schedule remains a dynamite RPI schedule. American is a very big positive to the schedule. UNC Greensboro not nearly as much - but the combination would have been a net positive.

Thankfully the SEC is on the upswing with teams like Auburn, Texas A&M and Tennessee all being in the top 60 of your RPI future.

I feel like losing non-con matches is less damaging to top teams, than mid-tier o flower-level teams that need the wins.

This is actually mathematically true - or at least it is less damaging for teams that have a very high w/l% than those with a lessor w/l%. Florida going 25-2 instead of 27-2 cost them .0013 Florida going 21-6 instead of 23-6 cost them .0038
