Well, its not on in California, so the broadcast must be tape-delayed. If someone on the East Coast doesn't mind, can they post when the broadcast started and then ended so I can tape it? Thanks!

Heather's serve seems to score a lot of indirect points on over passes.

Are they showing every minute of all the games?

Yes. It must be delayed because despite long commercials, they seem to be showing every point.

Yes they are!
I feel like we are missing a lot of digs that we should be able to handle. The defender is in the right place alot of the time, but just isnt able to control the ball. This surprises me because I know defense is something that Toshi really emphasizes. It seems especially true for Keba, Haneef, Robyn, and Dani. Logan and Stacy seem to be defending pretty well, as you would expect.
Haneef gets dug so often, it is unbelievable. Robyn's serves were effective. Still think she could set the middle more. Love the quick set out of the back row for Logan.

Wow. Ridiculous dig by Logan on match point to keep the rally alive. I am so happy for them. I dont know if Brazil is that much worse of a matchup than Italy would have been given our past struggles with Italy. Either way it's a very tough match and you win or you are out. This is where they show whether they deserve a medal or not.

Well, even though they didn't show it live like they said they would, they showed ever single minute of the match, so that was nice. It was even nicer to see the US play so well. Other than Metcalfe deserving much more playing time(Haneef just isn't getting it done), my only complaint was the US seemed to serve an error after every Cuba timeout. Game 2 was a clinic, the passing was on, the block was there and the middles were involved, esp. Bown who had her best game of the tournament. Cuba was just off all night, it seemed, but the US looked as good as they have all tournament(from what little NBC has allowed me to see of them anyways). This was a pressure match, they passed the test with flying colors. It won't get easier, but at least they get the chance to take on Brazil.

In this match, Haneef was getting dug alot but she did put her fair share of balls away. I think the biggest difference is that she didn't make a huge number of errors. The USA has good enough blocking and defense to win points on their own, so even if Haneef is getting dug the USA is still winning points. Haneef needs to minimize her errors to keep the USA in contention. Keba Phipps didn't go off, but she was there emotionally and got kills in crucial times. Scott was quiet, and Bown finally made her presence felt. Logan Tom was finally terminating.

It's real simple: The CUBA women's team took the evening off. They had no motivation to win tonight against a tier two team like the US women. The USA women just post poned the inevitable. The USA women will get buried right off the bat in the elimination bracket.

Great win!. I hope this match provided the team rhythm that has been lacking in previous matches, and a turnaround. Now, it is winning and move forward or you are out.
Also, good to see Heather being more involved. Nancy, as usual, is great and she certainly deserves more playing time.
