Am watching the China - Japan match on the CBC French Channel (of course didn't know it would be on!).
China's making quick work of the Japanese Team and is up 2-0.
I just wish we had an idea when or where the US match would be. I'm hoping I'd get it later, but I think they'll be concentrating on the Track and Field events since there's a Canadian on track for a medal.
We'll see.

Match took just over an hour with China topping Japan 25 - 20, 25 - 22, 25 - 20.
On to the next match, Korea - Russia. I think Russia won't have much of a problem with Korea, but if there's anything that we've learned so far, is that nothing is predictable.

During the broadcast, Mike Dodd stated that the USA/BRA quarterfinal will be shown on NBC's late night telecast (12:30am-2:00am). Of course, it will be tape delayed and sharing an hour and a half of time with track, weightlifting and wrestling so expect the coverage to be shredded to bits. Why doesn't NBC just leave volleyball on the cable channels?
The Chinese look very sharp. Their offense doesn't look spectacular like the Cubans but they sure are smooth. A setter like Feng can really make a team look better than the sum of it's athletic parts. Her set distribution is amazing. I wonder if USA has any setter who has the potential to be that good.

The Russia - Korea match is on TV right now and boy the Russia Team is big! This should be a straight set win for Russia. Damn! Have to go to work now................ Well, hopefully, I'll get something from the French channel throughout the day since I can watch that at work (on the sly )

Here's the NBC Olympics link to the live stats.
It gives ongoing stat information as well as the scores, however, it doesn't auto-refresh.
16-7 Italy in game 2.

Set 2 to italy 25-14. Italy served well and blocks did a good job not just with kills but keeping the ball in play. 5 serve errors in the match for them already though
