What is BL3? Purchased an Xbox One X, to kill the boredom. I have already logged at least to 20 hours on Fallout 4 (purchased both game and console this past Saturday), and I'm already thinking of restarting over because I don't like my build. Also, this game is not as good as FO New Vegas which I have for PC. Any game suggestions that if cross platform? Looking into Ghost Recon Wild Lands. You should've bought the PS4 because there are so many great PS-exclusive games out there. The Last of Us (Remastered) Uncharted 4 Bloodborne (I've never played it but I hear it's fantastic but super difficult) Marvel's Spiderman God of War Horizon Zero Dawn Yakuza series (the latest remakes) Death Stranding Horizon Zero Dawn by itself is worth getting the PS4. Having said that, I don't know much about XBox. I looked at the XBox exclusives on Google and can't really recognize most of the titles. I thought about the exclusive games that PS4 has when making my decision and out of all the games you listed God of War is the only game I want to play. I completed The Last of Us (Remastered) in its early days and I'm interested in the next Last of Us 2 but I will wait until both God of War and Last of Us 2 are PS5 compatible. I was going to wait until the PS5 is released but with the current situation of social distancing and the deal for Xbox and its Game Pass Ultimate Service (with some membership finagling) it was a bit hard to pass up.

reached a boss named kill volt tonight. played him once and died. need to readjust my weapon scheme to deal with his strengths I beat that boss on the first try, but it was close, and I had farmed some really good gear. That reminds me. The side quest you're talking about is one of quite a few that just seem extremely long and tedious. I just cleared out another one on another planet that also took forever (not the boss fight, which was very fast, itself but all the hoops you have to jump through before you get to the boss fight). This is one reason I definitely don't like Borderlands 3 nearly as much as I liked Borderlands 2. I also think the quality of the writing is significantly worse, and Borderlands games aren't really known for their writing to begin with. I suspect that once I beat the game and the DLCs, I probably won't return to it much, as I just think I can get a better Borderlands experience from BL2.

The Borderlands series isn't known for its writing. However, I do find Claptrap to be hilarious in a pathetic sort of way.

i didn't try killavolt tonight. i ran around and fought some other enemies. i think tomorrow i'll go back to a story mission and see if i can get to level 17

If you want to level up, one of the best ways to do that is while farming bosses and mini-bosses for gear because they scale to your level. Some good ones are Baron Noggin in Meridian Metroplex for his EMP grenade (does massive damage to shielded enemies), the Cutsman SMG (a great boss killer that comes in incendiary, shock, and corrosive elements) from Borman Nates in the Meridian Outskirts, and the SkekSil pistol from Skrakk in the Ascension Bluff on Pandora (it's a pistol with an unlimited clip size that fires bursts that do a tremendous amount of splash damage and comes in incendiary, shock, and corrosive).

killavolt has an AOE attack that is unavoidable. cannot dodge it, cannot block it. nothing. you get to sit there and be electrocuted. i cannot understand how this is supposed to be done.
i'm moving on to something else and i'll come back when i am way over-leveled.

i am okay with games being hard if they are also fair. having an unavoidable attack is such a punk move.

I always quaked in my boots whenever I showed up somewhere and suddenly, a super long health bar (w/ the name of the enemy) shows up at the top of my screen. LOL! I almost always uttered the f-bomb. Alternatively, "Okay, here we go..."

I believe this attack is avoidable, as I think it's ground-based, and you can move out of the danger zone if you're fast. Don't get me wrong. It's still a tough boss fight, but it's doable. I think I used an incendiary SkekSil (a pretty overpowered pistol) to do the majority of the damage. But yeah, I don't blame you if you just come back when you're way above his level. That can be very satisfying in RPGs or other games like Borderlands that have RPG elements.
