I am learning to embrace "going loud" in Desperados. It is definitely more balanced to allow non-stealthy play than Shadow Tactics was.
You still need stealth, and there is pleasure in puzzling out the way to pick the lock and take out everyone silently, but brute force is also an option. For instance, maybe you just decide to kill someone where someone else can see them. That sets off an alarm, which results in extra patrolling guards. But one of your character has a shotgun....
In the most recent mission I set off an alarm and that resulted in a band of five guards patrolling around. But I was able to kill them all with a single shotgun blast. Then I set off another alarm. Five more guards. One more shotgun blast. After that they had no more extra alarm guards, so I just didn't worry about setting off any more alarms.

I fired up MTG Arena this morning and discovered that four of the most obnoxious cards were banned in the rotating format, and two were suspended (basically banned temporarily until a final ruling is issued in a month or two, though suspended cards are almost always subsequently banned) in the eternal format. This was a bit of a surprise, as Wizards usually gives a week's notice for an impending ban, but I don't think any of these cards will be missed.

They consistently beat kings game after game, and it's getting a little tiresome.

played sekiro for just a little bit, found a new small area with a difficult enemy (and by found i mean i accidentally saw the entrance when i was looking a youtube video about something else, e.g. i am a big fat cheater face). had to back away before i lost all my work toward an upgrade.
once i grab the next skill point, i can start grinding on some of these more difficult enemies.

I think I'm starting to see why people have said they enjoyed the gameplay but did not praise the story of Desperados III. I just had another staple of videogaming, the scripted unwinnable boss fight. And that resulted in yet again all my characters having all their weapons taken from them. (Hello, didn't we just do this a few missions ago?)

then moved on to the headless one. not a single attack i tried did damage. i have a feeling i'm missing something. i'll try a few times after work but i may wind up having to tackle the next boss, "dude on a horse", instead

I just had another staple of videogaming, the scripted unwinnable boss fight. And that resulted in yet again all my characters having all their weapons taken from them. (Hello, didn't we just do this a few missions ago?) The thing is, the mission was fun. But story-wise they are getting repetitive. The missions so far: tutorial (young cooper) train heist (very linear, introduction to skills) kill four targets in town (non-linear, essentially four mini-missions) wedding (break in, break back out) ranch (night mission, with pre-placed flaming oil traps) blow up bridge (two phases -- get dynamite, then escape) flashback (continues the story with young cooper) hangover mission (no weapons, find missing party member and escape town) swamp ambush (new character, rescue other characters) New Orleans (two stages -- steal letter, then penetrate enemy area) swamp raid (two separate teams penetrate to same area, then burn target) New Orleans again (work way through enemies to unwinnable boss fight) prison break train station (currently the mission I'm on) Apparently there are only two more missions: Devitt mansion back to the area where the flashbacks happened for (I assume) a final boss confrontation The mission that started feeling really repetitive was the second New Orleans mission. You play through pretty much the same map, with pretty much the same goal. Then the prison break mission is very standard. The train station mission feels like it's just a continuation of the prison break mission. (The gimmick here is that a train keeps passing through the map, and you use it for temporary cover because it blocks line of sight.)

I hate all enemies on ride-able animals because, in my experience, you have to deal with TWO enemies -- the riding enemy AND the ride-able animal. Each has different strengths.

In many games now characters have "idle animations" to keep them from looking like statues when you aren't specifically controlling them. I noticed today that one of the Desperados III characters has an idle animation where she pulls out a gun, spins it, and then awkwardly drops it on the ground, before quickly picking it up and putting it away with some "you never saw that" body language. Rather amusing.

Rather amusing. I noticed that. I think the stuff they say are more amusing. In Borderlands 2, I was idle for a really long time and suddenly, my character says, "I haven't got all day." In other idle moments, my character says other funny things like "I don't know about you but I'm on the edge of my seat," "Not the most exciting job I've been on," and "This is nice. Who wants to be out and killing stuff?" Sometimes, they hum a tune.

Typically only the one you are controlling will have idle chat like that, but the others may have pre-scripted conversations. This usually is triggered by advancing far enough into the mission level. It's a little odd, actually, because the characters could be on opposite sides of the map and they will still suddenly have a chat.

Within a couple seconds of being idle, Keen starts acting bored, and he sits down and starts reading a book within ~15 seconds.
