In Skyrim there is no idle animation for your character, but instead it switches to 3rd person view and then the camera starts moving around your character, letting you see (from all angles) him or her standing there as if you were strafing around. It lets you see the outfit you are wearing, the weapons you have equipped, the horse you might be riding on, etc.

Firing up The Last of Us, since the sequel was just released. See what this game is about.
Damn, the beginning is just like the COVID-19, with the mutated infected persons killing others.

The Last of Us In Pittsburgh now. Man, this game is addictive...just draws me into the story and goal. Yeah, The Last of Us has arguably the best story of any video game ever. I think the gameplay is a little lackluster (especially because it came out in the same year as Tomb Raider, which had amazing gameplay), but I can ignore it because the story and characterization were so great.

Now you're making me want to play The Last of Us again. LOL!
That game had a lot of great set pieces, plus so many great sections.

Ashes of creation looks like it’s gonna be crazy if they can pull off what they are saying. It’s very ambitious and the last game that was like that was star citizen and it still not done almost decade later. So I’m cautiously optimistic that aoc pulls it off

Small touches.
In the current mission late in the game of Desperados III, you are mingling at a party. There is a band, and the band leader announces the themes of the songs. One is about "bridges we build and bridges we burn". One "reminds you of New Orleans". One is about "towns where the train don't stop no more". "This next waltz, we normally play at weddings". All of these are references to earlier missions in the game.

The Last of Us
Woke up at 930 this Sunday morning and non stop playing. At Eastern Colorado and the controller batteries just died. Recharging now.
Only took a break to eat lunch at 2pm, then walked my dog at 5pm, now taking a break for dinner, and maybe clean the house a bit.

This goes back to what you said earlier, that an Open World game may not equate to a great game. TLoU is definitely linear, but the storyline is very captivating and for me, I want to reach the next stage so I can find out what will happen to both Joel and Ellie. Got to clean the house up a bit otherwise when wifey comes back tomorrow night and sees a mess she’ll know I was playing games. 🤣

You can probably beat it in a day, depending on how much time you spend on it.

Finished for the day. Elie was captured, and Joel just regain consciousness.
I’m about to lose consciousness. 😴

The Ellie vs. David (forgot his name) fight was the hardest boss fight in the game for me. I thought it had something to do with taking him out 3 times, but wasn't sure.

Only the last mission left now in Desperados.
Well, one last main story mission. There are also some bonus missions. Kind of like how Hitman has "escalations", where you play on the same map but have some new targets to take out, usually with quirky conditions.
