playing the final boss again. got to the 4th phase on the 1st try tonight. i think that's a marked improvement.
there is one attack in the 4th phase that is pretty devastating. need to see that a bunch more to figure out a game plan

Has anybody heard of Broken Roads? Looks like my type of game. An open world (I think) RPG with an interesting morality system. Supposedly you can try to talk your way out of problems or shoot your way out of them, using turn-based combat.
Set in a post-apocalyptic Australia.
Supposedly instead of "good and evil" or "high versus low chaos" or "reputation", you have a morality system with quadrants: humanist, Machiavellian, utilitarian, and nihilist; which give you different options when it comes to interacting with other people.
Edit: OK, looking at it more carefully I now suspect it is not open world, but rather more of a chapter-based game, where you can roam around a location and then move to the next location.

I hadn't heard of it, but based on what I saw, it looks quite reminiscent of Wasteland 2 and 3 except that it's set in Australia instead of the US.

Age of Z Origin
Man...just found out I lost out on lots of opportunity since starting this game. Every week there is a challenge called Doom's Iron Grip and Tyrant of Doom...two boss-like creatures that we can fight and get goodies from, though we can never defeat them. Each time we can launch 10 attacks, receive goodies after each attack and at the end of the day we can get more stuff based on where we rank. Well, I never gave this a second thought because my city is quite far away from these creatures. One day I decided to launch an attack to see how I would fare, thought I would have had to wait 30 minutes for my army to arrive. Turns out there is an accelerator whenever a city launches an attack on these two things, and our army will arrive in 15 seconds.
It sucks because the goodies I would have received all this time would have helped me develop my own mega zombie creature called Source Spirit and Empress, but now I'm like way behind with their development because of my shortsightedness.
Wonder if this game has Resident Evil's approval because a lot of the zombie creatures sure look like the ones in the movies.

Age of Z Origin
Our alliance leader bailed out, and left me in charge. No discussions beforehand, woke up this morning and noticed my new status as the alliance leader. Former leader did send a message that said "I am joining them" (another alliance). Oi vey!

I keep wanting to try the refreshed version of Kingdoms Of Amalur, because surely they must have fixed the bugs, right? Except no, I keep seeing reports that all the bugs of the original are still there, plus new bugs too. (This is the game that Curt Schilling sank a bunch of money into the development of, but his development company went bankrupt. The game has a reputation of being quite good in terms of story, but because the developers ran out of money, it was released with a bunch of bugs that were never fixed.) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdoms_of_Amalur:_Reckoning

Edit: I see that you're talking about the new version of the game. I was thinking of the original game from like 10 years ago.

The original game was not written for modding. Lots of compiled binary that can't be touched. Nowadays games are almost always written with modding in mind, but even only 10 years ago this was not the case.

2012 XCOM, for instance, was written with no regard for modding, although with a lot of clever work people managed to create the total game revamp called XCOM Long War.
That actually so impressed the devs that they wrote XCOM2 in 2016(?) with full modding support. They even invited the Long War modders to create a Day 1 Long War2 mod.

Kerbal Space Program has the most amazing modding community I've ever seen. Many of the most popular mods have actually ended up getting their developers hired by the game studio to incorporate the mods into the base game.

Does anyone know if you can repair/restore an xbox external storage device? Most computer devices can be repaired, but sometimes it costs more than replacing them. It really depends on what is wrong with it. Also, "repairing" is not necessarily the same thing as "getting your data back". A quick Google search is quoting prices of about $50 to repair.
