playing the final boss again. got to the 4th phase on the 1st try tonight. i think that's a marked improvement. there is one attack in the 4th phase that is pretty devastating. need to see that a bunch more to figure out a game plan about to jump back into chronos: before the ashes.
i haven't played in a billion years

i can get to the 4th phase each time i try, so that's good. it's going to take a massive amount of luck to get this done

The Last of Us 2
Went on a binge and finished this a second time. This time I didn’t mind repeating the 3 days in Seattle as Abby, though I was a little put off as I was finishing day 3 as Ellie. I think skipping all the cinematics helped speed the game along, there is a lot of good gameplay here. But just too much cinematic stuff to tell the story…really slowed down the game. Probably took too much space, could have added more gameplay action with less cinematic.
Still hate the Ellie vs Abby fights, and the idea that Abby is really a good person despite smashing Joel’s skull to pieces.
If there is a #3, hope they can streamline the storyline and blend it with the gameplay. Think that was why the first one succeeded the way it did.

I can understand that, although for me personally I don't think I would change anything. I do see how pacing story with gameplay would be difficult.

Alternating the days would have definitely helped with the pacing issues, though I don't think it would have salvaged the story, which was the real problem.

I never played that game. It's been so long since I played video games, I've forgotten game titles. Just the other day, I was thinking, "What's the name of that zombie game where a guy parachutes onto an island and he has to fight his way against zombies?" I could've looked it up and found "Dying Light" but I went for a run instead. Took me forever to figure it out.

gamefly has shipped "control". and, now that my apartment complex has constructed a steel cage around the mailboxes, i won't have to go to the post office to collect the game.

Aloy is sad you will not be helping her in San Fransisco.

Aloy is sad you will not be helping her in San Fransisco. First, Aloy is sad you can't spell "San Francisco." Second, my mancave is still there, but as expected, it has accumulated a lot of dust -- on chairs, TVs, game console, controller. Actual layers of physical dust. Now all those movies where they show shots of furniture draped in dust-cover sheets of cloth makes sense to me. I'm afraid to fire up the console. It'll probably tell me there are some software updates, which will take forever to download and install.

I would blame typo because broken wrist, but actually that was just a misspelling.
