Oh yeah! Bia will definitely eat Haneef alive! Hahahaha! I love Bia, she's a great person too! What is Bia's name on the roster? Also, is Cuba's MB, Nancy Carillo, really 18 y.o. and only 5'9"?

All the top teams in this tournament have better OPP's than Haneef-- Zhou, Bia/Mari, Plotnikova, Grun (is she OPP?), and the Cuban setter/OPP's. You can't teach height but maybe it is also true that you cannot teach some 6'7 players to hit harder and smarter

The Cubans are celebrating like they won the gold. But great effort from them, who would thought that they will win a medal but I cannot help but feel for Brazil, who would thought that they will go home empty handed. The future of Cuba looks bright again as they have a lot of young players but Brazil will lose quite a few veterans and will Mari Steinbrecher ever recover from the semi nightmare?

silver in 1964 and golds in 1968, 1972, and 1976 It cannot be 3 consecutive golds because when Cuba won in 2000, it was mentioned that they are the first team to win 3 consecutive gold medals in volleyball

Great win for the young Cubans. The program has rebounded nicely from the departure of the past great champions. This team is going to be deadly over the next four years through the next Olympics.
