Bronze medal match is underway. Both teams are running hot and cold as usual. Mari has already been subbed out. She looks like she's still shell-shocked from the semi-final match implosion. Too bad she's not playing 'cause she's hot!!!

Too bad she's not playing 'cause she's hot!!! I'm not viewing it live...is Mari still in the bench? She's so good, I wonder what's going on in her mind right now.

Mari's still on the bench with a completely expressionless look on her face. Brasil has no fire in their game right now. Virna was and one of the other starting MB's was subbed out also.

Cuba up 23-21 in game 2. Fernanda out, Fofoa in to set...but I think it was a double sub with the OPP.

Cuba wins 2nd set, 25-22.
Cubans playing a very upbeat game. You get the feeling that their excited to be playing for a medal.
On the other side of the net, Brasil is playing like the tournament ended two days ago...like they came to win the gold medal and nothing else is worth fighting for.
Starting the third game with all the regular starters except Mari, who Jim Watson correctly says looks "catatonic" on the sideline. She must have been crucified by the coach, other players, and Brazilian media after the Russian match.

Brasil finally heard the alarm clock...up 8-4 in the third set behind some blocks from Waleska.

If Brazil will not play well in the 3rd set then they just gave away a great opportunity to redeem themselves.

Bia is playing well. ;D I'm happy now. She is skinny and not tall but she hits hard, I take her over Haneef on any day

Brasil is now on a run, up 18-10. They've got the fire back. There's so much beautiful hitting in this game. I wish USA had some high-flyers like Brasil and Cuba.

She is skinny and not tall but she hits hard, I take her over Haneef on any day I take back what I said as it was an understatement, I am watching the match right now and Bia's backrow attack is awesome. For Cuba, Ortiz is back for Sanchez and when she connects on her attack, it is powerful but her timing is often not that great

She is skinny and not tall but she hits hard, I take her over Haneef on any day All the top teams in this tournament have better OPP's than Haneef-- Zhou, Bia/Mari, Plotnikova, Grun (is she OPP?), and the Cuban setter/OPP's.
