Hmm...Great things are coming? Can't see that unless maybe she's teaming up with Al and Leonard as a partner? She would bring a lot as a co-owner such as signing up sponsors/advertisers for the NVL. She knows a lot of influentials in media, business, politics etc and so could open doors. This would also explain the payment dispute with Donald? Is there a non-compete in her agreement with the avp?
Sorry, this probably should be on a different thread........Great post. I am wondering if this is a pissing contest of Walsh vs Sun? How did it start, how did it sadly come to this? Don't know of a non-compete clause exists. volleyballjim or bvballer might be able to shed light on this.

No idea on any technical AVP stuff but certainly a sad state. Again, it's the classic labor v. management and those actions usually take years to resolve to what either side intends. At that point its too late for the casualties that occur. It IS the players who make the sport but it DOES take "money to make money" and we have seen the plight of the NVL when they tried to be the 800lb domestic gorilla...the AVP HAS been getting better every year, starting with their 2 stop inital tour to the new and improved venue of the last couple of years, so money is going in and evidently the contract said 50% increase in prize money over the length of the contract (4 years), but thats just the view of an armchair libero feeding on VERY few facts and wanting the AVP to return to the glory of the 25-35 stop tours...For example:
AVP 1988 Season Summary Date Tournament Mar 12-13 South Padre Island Open Mar 18-19 Miller Lite Daytona Beach Open Mar 26-27 Miller Lite Fort Myers Open Apr 2-3 Miller Lite Panama City Open Apr 9-10 Miller Lite St. Petersburg Open, Treasure Island Apr 23-24 Scottsdale Open Jose Cuervo Gold Crown Clearwater May 7-8 Miller Lite Dallas Open May 28-29 Miller Lite Ventura Open Jun 4-5 Miller Lite Orange County Open, Seal Beach Jun 11-12 Miller Lite Hawaiian Open, Honolulu Laguna Beach Open Jose Cuervo Gold Crown Boulder Jul 2-3 Manhattan Beach Open Jul 2-3 Rhode Island Open Jul 9-10 Rochester Open Salisbury Open Venice Beach Open Jul 16-17 Cleveland Open Jul 30-31 Milwaukee Open Aug 13-14 Jose Cuervo Santa Cruz Open Aug 20-21 Seattle Open Aug 27-28 Chicago Open Sep 3-4 San Francisco Open Sep 10-11 Pacific Palisades Open Sep 17-18 Jose Cuervo Gold Triple San Diego Sep 24-25 Miller Lite U.S. Championships, Hermosa Beach AVP 1988 Money Leaders

I don't have any info regarding Kerris contract with the NVL except what she stated on her Social media saying that she would be competing in Long Beach & Hermosa. No info on a non compete clause either. Can't imagine she would sign one there either. We all pretty much had to see this coming from a mile away. Then again I heard she was retiring & according to the net live guys the rest of the VB world heard this too. It is now clearly a rumor. Kerri wants to play 4 more years. I believe she is going to play it out on her own terms. One thing I would not do is underestimate the power she may have to bring fans into an NVL tourney. Especially if it doesn't coincide with an AVP tourney. This woman knows many powerful (and rich) people. The FIVB & partners for that is the main question for both Kerri & April. This sucks that this has happened in a World Championships year because these two were our only hope at a podium. It will be fun to see how this year plays out! Hope Beach Volleyball in the US has a successful year in all leagues and on all fronts.

If you click on the player, you can see what is making up their seed points Bombrens have 645 a piece = 1290 Avery has 810 (large pts from NYC and Seatle 3rds), Mark has 605 = 1415

Wow. 61 Teams in the Quali's. Wish the main draw had 32 teams. It would give the lower level guys a decent shot at making the main draw.

If April did join Kerri in the boycott - which I don't think she will, but if - it would probably be he AVP's smartest move to just shut down the women's side altogether. Would love to see the AVP go back to a separate men's tour She isn't. Also, Ross/Walsh are done as a team - domestic and FIVB. Let the partner musical chairs begin!

Is it volleyball-based or personality-based?
